No More Sugar

chances are, they are probably taking their jolly sweet time with ANY recording they ARE doing. i doubt they would even want to rbe in the studio as chi is in a coma. i mean, that's how i would feel if i was in a band with the same dudes for 21 years.

no, normal eros songs were finished months ago (at 2008) with chi..

now they are in studio again and writing new stuffs, NEW STUFFS...

may be they think a double album, may be another album but EROS SONGS were finished months ago..

"The upside – and downside – of so much new work, in addition to what they cut with Cheng before the accident, is that it's now hard to decide what should be on the new album.

"We haven't had this much music to choose from pretty much ... ever," Cunningham says. "Probably not since our first album, when we had everything written up to that point to consider. Ever since then, in this game of writing, recording, touring, we would only end up with just enough for a new disc.""

See.

thats why i said they were taking their time in the first place

Noooooo. Keep Eros how you intended it to be. I can't believe they're changing songs all the way back to Adrenaline just for this guy, that's a bit backwards. Just release Eros with Chi's stuff on it, and release whatever else later. Bleh. I don't get upset often but that kind of pisses me off.

They were already trying to get back to their roots for Eros anyway.
They better not copy some Adrenaline shit though.

Get over yourselves.. it's what they want to do.. if they want to make an aggressive album then thats what its gonna be... you're not going to change their mind.

I have no qualms about how the album is going to sound. I don't care if they want to go folk and have Chino play banjo--you're getting me wrong. I just think they should release Eros the way they had been when they called it finished before the accident, and save anything new for some other time.

See.

''As is the continuation of work on "Eros," though having Vega join the recording – bringing a more precise and less instinctual feel to the group's dynamic – has led the band somewhat back to the drawing board. A load of new material has been written, which Cunningham describes as, "Well, I don't want to say 'brutal,' that's such an overdone word ... but it's some pretty heavy music."

So you're not reading the whole context of it.. thats good for you to have hope for something thats not gonna happen.

Jesus2Chino

*Sigh* I just feel like there's no need to take an album back to the drawing board, after it was finished, just because a new bass player is in the picture. If Sergio is worth his salt, he could play what Chi wrote for Eros, and have his input in writing on other stuff for the next album. I just don't understand why they'd restructure and re-work songs just because Sergio isn't completely down with how they are. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just saying I don't get it.

yeah if he's taking over he's gonna learn how to play all of it

i would assume it went down something like...

they jammed a different way....and decided to take a little different route with the music.

No..

They have a lot of songs to choose from.. they're probably gonna take a mix of Chi songs and Sergio songs.. thats just how its gonna be..

Abe himself said they've never had so much to choose from.. for the EROS album.

Jesus2Chino

Lol, okay, than a double album it is, :P. A kind of juxtaposition piece, one disk with Chi, and another with Sergio. Maybe this is just hitting me hard because I didn't realize Sergio was ever intended to be a help in writing new material, I thought he was exclusively a tour replacement.

Correct. I think that he'll probably to touch ups on what they put on Eros as well, if Chi hasn't woken up by that time in the recording process.

They already said they went in and recorded MORE songs.

Why is this such a hard fucking concept to grasp?
