and they wanted to make a change in it (from it). with this fly they symbol and mean they are gonna sound
like all the other flies out there, mening they will sound like linkin park on eros. which should make u happy,no?

I think that's a cicada actually. This makes sense for the Deftones 'cause some cicadas stay underground for 7 years in their nymph stage before emerging. At least they're being honest with us and with themselves-- now the healing can begin. 11 steps left in the program to go.

I'd rather they went back and polished it up and made a better product than release it before they feel it's perfect.

I get what you're saying, but at the same time their initial instincts can also be what's best. Overanalyzing the material can lead to a sound that's too manufactured.
