I kind of find interesting that they decided to continue with the record despite having it finished. Seemed like all that's happened kind of produced feelings that needed to be expressed as music (new, raw, important music, you know). This might make for a batter new (and really emotive) record.

it seems kind of depressing to say but Chi will be extremely lucky to come out of this coma without significant brain damage. its not like he'll wake up and be like " hey, lets hit the studio"  if hes capable of doing anything it will take along time for him to get back to playing

It sure is going to be weird having somebody else stand on Chino's right hand side.... And it's going to be weird having the replacement bass player do Chi's "screaming". I know it's pointless but somehow I feel he hasn't earned the right to do that.

I understand though, that they may need to let out steam, to promote the new album, try out new material, make money.... It's harsh but it's life. As big as Deftones are, they'll also have expecations and commitments to fulfill to their record company.
But without such an important part of the very foundation of the band....

I'm conflicted. Happy for the guys that they get to play music, since music is their lives. I think the reception they'll get when they come out, and how people may chant for Chi, will make it very emotional for them.
But I'm also sad for Chi, and scared for him.

He will not be able to play if he wakes up in time. His muscles will need a lot of work, a lot of physical rehab.

Yeah, I know that he will need rehab after wake up, and if he's awake  prob he won't be playing; what I'm saying is that it would be great (and I'm expecting it to be true) that by the time they were on that show, Chi would be awake, not playing but alive and recovering...

and maybe seeing them (his bandmates) playing a show in his honor!

we dont know what they'll do. they might go 6 years without another album, or just 2-3. they might disband, or they might keep going. all just speculation

- they need money
- they need to realese this album
- they need to survive the deftones
- they have to be in concerts

or

- deftones will be end (god i cant even think about it...kind of music will be dead)
- even not...they have to wait for chi
- even chi would be ok tomorrow they have to wait till he completly healthy
- we have to wait till 2010 for the eros
