WTF? that was strange as hell... sounds more like a personal rant to me than anything for Chi. I still don't understand why they haven't been able to raise all the money yet. There's so many wealthy musicians and others out there who have mad respect for the deftones...I just don't get why it hasn't been done already. Why can't the record co. kick in a little cash as well? Thinking about it makes me mad, but it's all beyond my control. I just hope he gets the love and treatment that he deserves!

long time no see my SL brothers and sisters... sorry i have been mia BUT i have been workin my ass off for chi. so for some news i had tonite that i haven't posted on the site yet.. chi is following commands like move your tongue etc.... these are beginning stages that they use to start rebuilding.. if it sounds like not such a big deal... it is my loves. it means chi is hearing and understanding and his brain is able to carry out the task requested.

so... ya.. baby steps... the brain is a complicated thing.

i am.. with all of my heart reaching out to each and every one of you to help me with something...

I'm doing a video montage of fans of chi's in hopes we can make it viral on youtube. Can u each do a video of yourself saying what chi means to you and how much you hope for his recovery?

i've been taking a little longer on this than i had hoped. i've been insanely busy the past week as i'm in the middle of a 10 day straight stretch at work, but i promise i'll get something to you soon. hopefully i'll get it done tonight since i'll have time to myself for the first time in about a month.

BTW, any OneloveforChi tshirts on the US tour? I have one but would love to press my buddies into buying one each (they are new fans) the cause would be more than enough to get them on board. If not, can this be worked out? There are still ppl out there without the internet access that would help but could be unaware, and if they are not for sale on tour already, could be a way to get to every fan's attention n sell em! just a thought....

Hi all,

Hope you are all doing fine. I know this update is long over due....

I never intended for this website to be about me at all... but i now find myself in a situation where the only way to explain my recent absence is to be straight up. A little over two months ago I found out I was pregnant.. long story short I was put on bed rest because they classified it as high risk. I ended up having a miscarriage and surprise to me was quite a long ordeal. Any way... I am recovered now and I am moving forward and doing whatever I can to get Chi to New Jersey.

I was in contact with my Chengs the whole time and they were all an incredible amount of support in helping me get thru this sucky time. So thank you my family!

Please don't feel the need to say sorry or anything... I'm ok...back in my flow... "one tough cookie" like Mae said. So let's just press on and get Chi what he needs to recover!

I apologize for any unanswered emails and t-shirt orders that are behind. I will be getting those all caught up this week.

As for Chi... he is hanging tough as always. I talked to him tonight and reminded him of all of our love and support.

We are in the middle of making all the arrangements to get Chi to New Jersey in the very near future. So thank you to everyone who has come together to make this happen for him.

It's happening guys.... Mom J (Chi's mom) and Ming have been posting about it recently and..... TODAY - After 2 years and 4 months, Chi has started his treatments in New Jersey!  The thing we have been working for for sooo long. Dr. DeFina gave him good prospects so hopefully Chi will come back to us now  - in time.

Mom J:

"Today is day 1 of the New Jersey treatment for Chi. Please send up a prayer for him to do well and recover. Thank you all again that made this happen!OneLove!!"

Just finished talking to Chi's mum/mom and she asked me to write up a blog on my Chi page - It contains a lot of news so I thought I'd share it with you:

This is such an exciting time for our brother.... Just finished talking to mom J, Chi's mom, and she had so much to tell us. I'm writing up a quick blog on her request.

It's day 5 of Chi's treatments in New Jersey. It took 2 years and 4 months to get him in to the right treatment programme, with the right professionals, and believe me when I say our brother is fighting to get out of his current state...

Mom J said he has got muscles in his chest now from trying so hard to pull himself up all the time!

These are some things directly from mom J about Chi's treatments:

"Chi is getting treatments from 11 am to 5 pm every day and is already showing signs of recovery!"

"On the second day, after Chi's first acupuncture, he already showed improvements!

Chi also has speech therapy but it is a lot more than regular speech therapy."
They use a stimulator which she doesn't think he enjoys that much. All for a greater good I suppose...

"His treatments include biofeedback, which he is already improving on. He also receives laser therapy."

Mom J is especially impressed with his acupuncture doctor. He is the first doctor she has met that really does the traditional Chinese style acupuncture. He also adds chi gung to it, which is amazing.
(I will take mom J's word for this as I don't know enough about this.)

Get this though.. Mom J told the acupuncturist about these amazing books she has on the subject, with one page in English and the other one in Mandarin/Chinese. She didn't bring these books to New Jersey, but the doctor still immediately knew which books she was talking about. She has read the English pages in the books but wished she could read the Chinese pages.. She says: "This white guy, trained in New York, read the Chinese side. I thanked him in Mandarin and he speaks it fluently. He does the best technique I have ever seen."

"Dr. Fellus made a house call this morning to reset his (Chi's) Backlofen pump and increase it. I think they will continue to increase it as he struggles to fight with his body tightening up. Dr. Fellus is also going to inject some Botox to loosen his hands and feet. If that doesn't help enough he is thinking of a foot specialist to help with the tightened tendons and a hand specialist to do the same with his hands."

"I hope he can handle the treatment they start next week, it's the electric brain stimulation."

"It is too early to tell how far and how long it will take but this was the right place to come. He looks like he is 20 now..."

Still a long way to go, Dai, but I can't believe how far you've come.... Still remember how emotional it was the first time I read Gina's blog about how you moved and showed signs of being somewhat awake 2 years ago.... All your life threatening infections, all your struggles, the frustration of being such an intelligent man with fantastic communicational skills - without a voice... All the frustrations of being stubborn and so desperate to get out of that hospital bed that you keep trying to pull yourself out, thus developing serious muscles...! It will all be a part of a long, hard journey back to his life. Back to us who are patiently waiting for him, back to millions of fans worldwide... Most importantly, back to his family.

Love you so much Dai  - We are all here, brother, as long as it takes. Keep fighting; we are RIGHT THERE WITH YOU. And Mom J, the most beautiful and amazing mom in the world... We all love you, so much. Lean on us and gather strength from us because we are there for you, every step of the way.

Day 7[in New Jersey] and Chi is starting to do things on request. Also slept thru the night for the third night in a row. That doesn't sound so big but it really is! The doctors are going slow and keeping a careful eye on how he is doing with the treatments. OneLove to ya'll family!!
