hey guys.. sorry i haven't had much time to come to SL... the website is getting busy and more and more emails are coming in daily.. so it's just been more to keep up with... also keeping in contact with chi's mom, sis and bro daily.. mom some times several times a day.. just making sure they are ok... they have had a rough week as you can imagine.

but chi is out of ICU now and you will see from my last 'one love' update.

since things are getting busier you might want to register on the site to make sure you get all these updates.. as i am not sure if i will be able to keep up with coming here as frequently as before.. i have t-shirts to make happen and alot of other things coming along..

chi's not dead he's too much of a beast to go out by the hands of another

A 2 1/2 year old boy was seen 1 1/2 months after a near-drowning episode. The child hit his head and fell into the swimming pool. It is not known how long he was submerged. The family was told that the child was blind and he presented in a persistent vegetative state with severe spasticity on the left side and hypomobility of the right leg. He was fed by PEG tube. Initial SPECT imaging showed extensive and symmetrical deficit throughout frontal, temporal, parietal and occipital lobes. After three treatments with hyperbaric oxygen therapy the patient began moving more, trying to speak, and "acting up" when angry. The patient began crying with tears for the first time after 16 treatments. After 26 treatments the patient was smiling, much more alert, laughing, crying, sleeping much better and laughing while dreaming. Following 34 treatments the patient was more aware, developing much more eye contact and was clearly not blind. To-date the patient has received 199 treatments and now sees clearly, is speaking bi-lingually, standing and taking a few steps. He is now able to eat and drink normally. He was given back a life.

just a question... how long did it take those 199 treatments? i mean.. how many time?

well.. considering in the beginning.. maybe the first 2 months i believe he would get 1 or 2 a day.. then they take a 30 day break and start again.. so after 2 months he would have had 60 - 120 treatments... so it could be 4-6 months.. depends on so many things and hard to predict.

Yeah, I'm not going to get my hopes up over this, it sounds like a huge misunderstanding. Not fun times, my heart was going crazy when I clicked on the article, and then dropped again when I finished reading it.

I haven't heard these rumours but on his sisters myspace it said "please baby wake up" today...
I didn't even realise that on May 4th it was 6 months since the accident...

hey guys.. i emailed these guys last night to ask them to please correct themselves... obviously they misunderstood. chi is more of in a semi-conscious state.. so technically not in a coma since he started tracking with eyes and saying words.. sometimes they label it as a 'vegetative state' but those in a VS do not talk or track with eyes or do things on request like chi does... so it is considered more a 'minimally conscious state'. so basically he is more in and out of a coma like state... but fully awake awake? no.. believe me.. you would have heard this from me RIGHT away!!!!! and i would be on my way to cali.

he is still opening his eyes and tracking.. but he is super tired after this ICU/infection ordeal...

so.. keep up the good thoughts/prayers. he should be starting the oxygen therapy saturday or sunday.
