Exactly. It's really weird as I always read about something similar happening to someone in a band that I'm not really a fan of but in a odd and maybe crazy way, I didn't think that this would affect me in such a way. I was totally distraught and saddened when I first read it.

Chi Update 12/9/08

Hello,

Chi remains in a coma, and as of this morning there's been no significant change in his condition. Last week he was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit and transferred to a brain rehabilitation hospital in Northern California. The hospital specializes in the care and management of traumatic and non-trauma related brain injuries with a team of highly skilled therapists, nurses and consultants. He's in great hands.

Please continue to pray for our brother, and thank you all for your love and support.

What happened to his mom's entries? They were really hopeful and created lots of positive vibes. We need more of those as time marches on.

I feel bad for bringing this up..but..

has anyone thought, considering Deftones dip in sales, maybe even a dip popularity etc..that Chi's accident might be a blessing in disguise for the band and their position in the music biz/rock world?

i mean..if people had perhaps, not been into the Tones for a while, considering they were hugely popular around the WP era...could Chi and his recovery bring back some lost fans and build up a new surgence of passionate fans?

Maybe Deftones will explode back onto the scene with total avengeance?

I think the new albums gonna blow us away, don't get me wrong, Deftones are my number 2 band right behind Metallica.

I don't think they really left he scene really, just put it on hold... and I really hope this new album shows that they can still be the biggest little band on the planet.

It was another update, thankfull for that. 'No significant change'...sounds scary. That said, the news has been really positibe so far. Keep the faith.
