I was thinking that myself. It should be 'The Chi Tour'.

First off, it is refreshing to see so many in concern for Chi. Well placed concern of course.

When I slipped into a coma no one could wake me up, no voice, no dreams, nothing. He has brain activity, he will be fine.

When I awoke from my coma it took about three days to reach sanity, when I closed my eyes I saw demons and nasty shit, crap I would never wish upon my worst enemy.

Growing up a friend was WAY into drugs. His family owned the San Fran sea ports - so yeah, he was loaded. Anyway, he was so fucked up on drugs he jumped off a four story house without anyone near. He laid in a back yard, in a coma, for 24 hours, his ear was missing, it was freezing out. Ten days in the hospital, in a deep coma he just awoke and said, "where is my cell phone." He got up and left the hospital right then.

It takes a strong mind, we all know Chi is well equipped.

Really, what I want to say, is no word of surgery, which is GOOD news.

I don't believe in the tradional god, but, my thoughts are with Chi.

it's fucking hard not to worry when the word "neurosurgeon" is being used to describe his accident.  hopefully having a neurosurgeon is standard for head injuries, just to monitor the situation...

ANY, I mean any head trama a neurosurgeon is around. No worries, it is protocol.

Don't worry about little petty arguements in this thread, because, afterall this thread is for Chi, OUR favorite musicain. (sp?)

I've talked to a source that is a close family friend of Chi's,and she said instead of sending him flowers,we should donate to Peta in his name, since he is a big supporter. I personally think that's a great Idea.

Also,I was thinking of making a separate thread for everyone to put kind words and letters in,and I would print them off and get them mailed to him. I'm not gonna go through every page of this thread picking them out or print off every page of this thread.

I have a paypal account we can get donations going if that sounds good to you all?

Actions speak louder than words or money... I agree, we should all write something to Chi and his family how he has touched our lives.

For me, I have a bad temper, a violent temper, I've been playing bass since I was 14 and to look up to Chi as a guide, well, I'm proud of that fact. I play bass note for bass note to Adrinellin everyday to keep my fingers in check., also calm my nerves - even the heavy metal bass riffs that only Chi could make in drop C (Yes, I know the first album was standard tuning)... I'm amazed what a caring and funny (sarcastic) character Chi is... Someone I would like to hang out with, someone like Rick Verret (Tinfed, Team Sleep) - we seem to get along great. I don't believe in idols, but Chi would be my hero for sure!!!

whodunit?

This is where to post letters and such for Chi.  I will be printing them all off and mailing them to him as soon as everyone that wants to post has done so.

Disrespect in this thread will NOT be tolerated.

If what you have chosen to write is personal, and you chose not to post it on the board, you may PM me your letter and I will print it with the others.

Chi,

You have managed to become one of my biggest inspirations. From a very young age I've been listening to your music and seeing you peform onstage. I've always thought that human beings could never be as cool as you and the crew. Your music and your art have had nothing but an extremely positive effect on my life. I am so grateful to you for that. Thats all that I really need to say. Chi, you are a great human being and extremely talented. Words cannot describe the impact you've had on me and all of your fans. Stay strong!

Nothing but love from Timmy Smith, NY.

13htp, you heard the story behind the bassriff to "Change (in the house of flies)"? that riff is so tight...

Dear Chi.

I was shocked to hear about your accident! it was a surreal "NO WAY" type of moment that at first i thought was a joke coz ive read many crazy stories about you and i remember in an interview you once did you said you had read some pretty crazy stories about yourself too, including one that you were dead!..

But it turned out to be true, and i read something Chino wrote about how it was true, and he was freaked out by it. News that you were in a car accident leaving you in a coma..what a shock!

I think you form a very important part of Deftones, not many bands can boast having an asian, buddhist vegetarian (pescatarian?) in their bands..You have a very good energy that you give off and the word 'love' definatly describes that energy..i think you have a really gifted mind, and music all starts in your head so , all the craziness that makes you who you are is definatly felt through your bass contributions to the music..listening to your  playing within the songs is almost like getting a glimpse of how your brain works..and its always entertaining, your steadfast insistance on not playing bass with a pick is really admirable too..keeping thoses grooves organic.

You've inspired me to support causes like PETA also, and you encourage me to read more about things i normally wouldnt.. ,always good to know you're the type who likes to drink 10 beers and have fun now and then too......ive been a fan of Deftones for about 7 years now, and if the worst happens...its gonna be devastating!

Nothing else matters as James Hetfield sang, other than you recovering, waking up, and continuing to spread the love.

hope you feel better soon!

Josh . UK fan
