Chi,

1st time I met you was at Nitas Hideaway in Tempe, AZ May 2003. You walked up started to sign autographs. The item I wanted you to sign was in my car! I asked you: " I have something I would love to have you sign, I have to get it from my car, do you have a moment" you reply,"Yeah, but you better hurry!" Needless to say, I RAN real fast, and you signed it for me! I hope you have a VERY speedy recovery! I can't wait to see you again in Phioenix REAL SOON!

as things have changed in my life, one thing has always remained constant, Deftones music.
from adrenaline, to saturday night wrist, you guys have always been there. when i heard of your accident, i didn't know how to react, but after a few days, it happened, it sunk in, and i was devastated.  i can only imagine how hard this must be for your family, deftones, and everyone that surrounds you. as a fan, i've always thought of you guys as untouchable, like super heroes. with the world at war, people dying every day from hunger, the last person i ever thought would be hurt was you. i know it's selfish to say "get well, i'll see you soon"
but please come back, for your wife, your parents, and your family, and one day maybe i'll see you out on the road. cheers to a speedy recovery. all my love goes out to you and yours.

I feel no sympathy for people who don't wear seatbelts.. they're there for a reason, if you don't wear it, it's your own damn fault if you die in an accident.

I know who the thread is for..

People still have a responsibility to protect themselves.. if they don't respect that option, then I have no sympathy.. he's gonna be fine, he got lucky.

Chi.

I am not a man of much sentiment or poetic words.  So I will put this simply.  The work that your life has been dedicated to has touched and influenced me in depths and measures that I will never be able to make you understand.  Deftones mean more to me than I have even been able to make anyone understand.  The news of your accident has devastated so many of us.  I really don't even know how to describe how helpless I felt when my friend told me about your accident.  You have done so much for all of us, all we can do for you is pray and support your family.  One of the best memories of my life was watching you and the rest of the Band rock out on the ST tour.  I really, really hope I get to see you do that again.  Another memory that I will never forget is the first time I introduced Deftones to the Afghan soldiers I was embedded with.  They couldn't quite figure out how to dance to your music, but they tried, and they had a great time doing so.  Literally, the world misses you Chi.

            Respectfully

Not only that, but no one deserves to get hurt like this.  It's not like he raped a girl.  He just forgot his seat belt.  I'm sad that I missed the majority of this thread.  It's cool that we have such good updates though.

Look , i personally think there are some people who feel a hint of "rebelliousness" at not wearing a seatbelt..almost like they dont like the conformity of it..i speak mainly for a couple of people i personally know..a bunch of real idiots if you ask me.

But in Chi's case, thank goodness he is gonna be okay, but no one seemed to even bother to consider if his sister was okay or not.

She was also in the accident and must feel pretty damn distraught over what happened to her brother, and she was at the wheel, so , his life was in her hands. Hope she is okay too!

Undanceable Days

i've seen a day
and many more
coming
slowly
like a turtle walking
a worm crawling
hungry and rock-steady
to fulfill its natural need

on that day
you and i will dance again
to the stage its rock 'n roll
or whatever is on the radio

we'll remember days
the ones
so undanceable
our time
empty
of moving feet
our beats
nowhere to be found
our inspiration
lost

then
wisdom -
waiting all along
standing right beside -
lets you open a new gift
i'll foretell -
sneakers
new and pimped

because
as long as we can dance
we feel the arms of relief
the warmth of joy
the hope for happiness

i've seen a day
and many more
coming
ones again

Hey Chi
It has been some sad days since i heard of the terrible accident. In fact, i havent yet realized that this really happened. it feels like a bad dream.
My thoughts are with your whole family right now, especially your mom, she seems to be the sweetest person. I lost my sister a couple of years ago and i now how it is when someone very close to you passes away, my mom was devestated for years. No parents should ever have to bury their child.
I pray for you and your family each day until you get well again. I know that you will fully recover, i know that.
You are a strong person and their is a lot of faith and believe in you.

The Deftones has been a huge inspiration in my life for many years now.
I mean, you have a song with same title as my name (Linus ;) )
Seriously, You guys have helped me in many dark times.
And it will continue to do it.

See you on the road soon Chi!
Come to sweden soon as you have recovered!

My thoughts are with you Chi. I hope for a speedy recovery for you.   :-*

Chi Update 11/11/08

Hello Everyone,

Chi's condition remains stable and doctors continue to remain positive about his recovery. They anticipate Chi waking from his coma sometime in the very near future.

As some of you know, Chi is also a poet and released a spoken word CD, The Bamboo Parachute. A portion of the proceeds are donated to help homeless children as well as WEAVE (Women Escaping A Violent Environment). Because of this, today's assignment is to please go through your house, as well as your clothes and donate anything you aren't using to your local Goodwill, Salvation Army, Women's shelter, or homeless shelter.

Please continue to heal Chi through your prayer and love. Remember to spread kindness and love to the world around you, and please stay safe and buckle up.

A suggestion for you: If any of you want to keep a journal of good deeds as well as the good around you, please do so. You can post these on the blogs or share them with Chi when he wakes up. These journals will help him through his rehabilitation.

"Adversity introduces a man to himself."

I will continue to tell you about this good man daily.

With our love,
Jeanne

P.S. Oprah, I have an assignment for you: please call!
hang a noose for my new sinner.... somewhere everyone can see it...
