I'm sorry, I'm REALLY not that impressed right now. People keep saying it's going to be "heavy as fuck", because he's using an 8 string. What they just played wasn't heavy, it sounded like SHIT.  Sure, the actual key/note will be low, but that's not what makes shit heavy. Go take a listen to Adrenaline, some of those songs are wonderfully heavy, but they written on 6 Strings. He needs to quit this ideal that adding more strings or tuning down as low as possible makes a song "heavy". Stef, you're not meshuggah, make YOUR music and quit trying to be something you're not.

I have to say, after listening to everything they've played so far, It's not looking good. I've been a fan of the band since 1994 when I got a demo tape from a friend in CA. But It's starting to show they're on a decline. Hopefully they can prove me wrong??

I like their mellow side Variable, but I just think the new stuff they are posting isn't that great. I'd have to agree with most of the people who say that the new song sounds like Rats!Rats!Rats!, it does! It's nothing new and sounds like a b-side to SNW.  If they are going to replicate sound, go back to ATF and WP days! Drop the stupid 8 string and write some beautiful music like the old days.

Realizing it's just small clips and how much I love the Tones, I think they will come through. It's just not sounding great right now.
