Naw don't get me wrong bro, I love WP and The Boys Republic is quite possibly one of their best songs ever. I just like the other albums better :P My least favorite Deftones album is still better than 80% of all the other shit out there. Part of it is because it's the one everyone knows too, I can be a little contrarian at times.

No!
ATF = S/T  >  SNW = Diamond Eyes > WP > B-Sides > Adrenaline > Like Linus

ATF is really the album on which Deftones matured, honed, developed and perfected their sound.
On Adrenaline it sounds like they will still very much discovering themselves - it doesn't sound like a fully developed album (don't get me wrong, it's still brilliant as every Deftones album thus far has been)

from_musings

overall, steph's riffs were very lazy and easy in atf compared to adrenaline. i'd say it was a step back in that area, as a whole - way more cool shit going on in adrenaline

I can't go back to adrenaline, after feeling the difference in production.
I think it should be remastered

I do agree with the drop in complexity of riffs (see: Minus blindfold, Root, Birthmark vs the fairly straightforwardness of MOS, BQAD, Title track). But lyrically and vocally I think they made a giant step forward. Also, of course the production value was much greater in ATF.

ATF, metaphorically speaking is a completed Rubik's Cube. The others aren't finished but still awesome Rubik's Cubes.

i think the production is what gives adrenalin part of its charm. part of its raw sound and edyness. i like it the way it is.

It's still hard to deny the dramatic improvement lyrically and vocally. Adrenaline is too ambiguous on this matter.

The rawness and aggression are great but the vocals, I can't listen to them anymore after hearing ATF, WP and SNW. Indeed Chino was young but Terry Date compressed his vocals and its just not that enjoyable anymore.

Absolutely, it all boils down to which is more important to you.. Lyrics and vocals, or riffs.

And if you're a drumbeat kinda guy, they're all gold. Let's be honest, Abe is clearly the best "musician" of them all. I mean I would take the simplicity of Steph's riffs over some complex Metallica shit any day but.. Damn Abe is just fucking fantastic, everything else is pretty easy to replicate.

Abe can be way better, I expect more from him Infact, I expect more from Steph because I love listening to riffs in general but I think he's getting a little too comfortable in his "laziness" zone. Some songs are great but they're not like the earlier albums where you'll hear different melodies and riffs. He does change but very little now.
Apparently Steph said he wants to take it to the next level but Abe isn't ready? I think deftones should really "crack the whip" on this new album. They can still go old school and throw their new school elements in. Maybe they cracked it on Eros but let's see
