so a band cant evolve? if you listen to their albums in order, those songs (and sounds) make sense. deftones have been turning into a heavy ambient band ever since ATF imo. sure they still have rckers, but i think the next album is going to be a lot like snw in regards to ambience

Anyone saying they don't like SNW I don't agree with. Along with this new song, it sounds wicked a hell.

Just like any band, they have evolved and embraced a new sound, you've still got your raw as hell deftones with a little bit of art mixed in (sorry stupid description, but that's what I think).

Sure, I think they made mistakes with their singles (Hite was good but not single material, mein was just an average song), but regrardless a great album.

Eros is going to be great, chino is focusing on singing and lyrics this time, along with his "newish" scream, so that's gotta be good for something.

i kind of desagree, it may sound similiar cause of the guitar figures, pattern signatures and song structure, but if you try to embrace it well youll notice its uniqueness. im so obsessed with the new song, that ive been taking notice of the drumm pattern and guitar signatures and its quite freaking awesome, making this arguably the most challenging technical execution of any deftones songs to date.

and that is badass.
