I think Moana is a very under-rated song in my opinion, I really like it.

true

and 'lucky you' is great song, its the type of song you wouldnt listen a lot but when you occasionally do its amazing.

also 'Needles And Pins' - oh god, how many times i have listened to that song - tooo many

S/T was their worst.  It had good ideas but weren't fully fleshed out because the band got too lazy.
seems like a b-sides album, minus minerva & needles & pins

Penicks

Ugh, Minerva. It's...so...slow...paced....

i know, there is something about Needles & Pins i love, especially the beggining bit 'How neat, I'm impressed...' i love the lyrics to this song, nice and angry and emotional, just how Chino should always be :)

the production on saturday night wrist was horrible... seriously...

personally, i haven't been able to sit through snw beginning to end, it's like each track was recorded in a different studio by a different engineer and a different producer, it lacks consistency... i wouldn't mind the entire album being recorded on a phone line or something as long as it's consistent, snw isnt...

apart from the production factor, the self titled is more deftones... deftones for me is ugliness mixed with beauty and st is just that, only on a sadistic extreme, heavy as fuck but still something your girl can listen to with you, it's really hard to write something like that, cheers to stef for alternating between meshuggah and depeche mode i guess.

moving on, beware is my favourite track from snw, i don't entirely despise pink cellphone and i'm so glad that snw comes really close as a contender to s/t.

right on.  production tanked on the album.  it doesn't sound coherent at all.  the opening drums on "beware" always sound way too low compared to the rest of the mix.  and regarding stephen switching b/w meshuggah and depeche mode...it's more the ongoing, song-writing power struggle b/w stephen and chino.  some songs were very deftones (combat, beware, kimdrak, even pink), but the rest was the sound of laziness and settling.

im startin to think snw just sucks

SNW just hasn't got the lasting appeal that the other albums have had, I rarely listen to it from start to finish.

beware does sound sweird production wise, it's like the vocals & music at first are way low, then the chorus hits & it's louder. terrible job there

riviere is awesome
Word.

The best last track on a deftones album, well... tied with Pink Maggit.

kalhan

yeah, i've been trying to figure out the guitar bits on beware... i can't, i've tried eq-ing the song the right way, i even cut the highs and mids bu 20dB but i still can't hear the guitar as clearly... too much fuzz going on

but guys... snw does not suck...

Deftones86

nah it doesnt suck it just sucks compared to other deftones albums...

Deftones-argentina

You'll love Snw once the new album is out, just like what happened with S/T. And then you'll have a new album to bash.

i think SNW is clearly better than s/t

cherry waves alone is better than anything on s/t. then you still have kimdracula, combat, riviere, xerces, & rapture, i think these tracks are better than s/t's best too.

both real good albums though
