Most people outside this board think SNW is better than S/T.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

whodunit?

Starz

that's cos most people are cunts.

Penicks

That's even more funny than that one time I put my entire fist in my belly button!

White Pwny

I prefer ST over SNW.... but then again, it all depends on my mood.

Sidenote.. Id take WP over all, anyday.
hang a noose for my new sinner.... somewhere everyone can see it...

I agree WP's on top.  S/T and SNW....that's a tough one.  S/T was a hard time for the toners, but so was SNW.  SNW had some classics like "Beware", "Combat", and "Kimdracula".  But S/T as a whole sounded more coherent and fluid.  It also featured killer songs like "Hexagram" "WGTB" "Minerva" "Bloody Cape" "Needles/Pins" and "Anniversary" - good grief the whole album was good!  Regrettably I find Good Morning beautiful, deathblow, and moana rather forgettable as individual songs, but they work into the album rather nicely.

Anywhoo, S/T>SNW

I think snw is more multifacetical, and that's something good really. White pony was loved for the same reason if you think about it. I think I'd pick up snw because it keeps a good level throughout the album (though I don't like Mein and pink C), but I have to admit that Minerva and needles & pins are better songs than anything on snw for me.

S/T pwns SNW. its as simple as that.

s/t takes a morning crap on snw every morning

Wise people, that's coz you two are my friends :D

s/t has killer song (so does snw) but, it's almost the same feeling, the same dark wave, the same sadness. SNW has a lot of dynamism (I don't know if that word exists, don't care really) and it's very very very specific on each song, s/t was nothing like that at all.

Hard choice for me.

Jerry_Curls

...but as a recording, SNW was kind of crap. It's the prodcution that makes it a good album and how everything flows. The beginning of the album is awkward, songs don't flow, some sound like they were recorded in a totally different way, randomness of PCP, [ok, just because White Pony included an electronic song, does not mean every album after that has to include that ONE song, how about 2 or 3 to balance everything out], etc etc.

I used to not like S/T, but then I realized the sound they were going for and the images they wanted to convey with their music. All the songs ahve that same "sound" like the ones on ATF share [Stef's guitar work and sound or Abe's drumming]. Overall, SNW isn't horrible, but as an album, it kind of lacks cohesion.
..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

Frankz0r

Well that's so true Jerry Curls, the production. Terry Date owns anyone, no matter what they say. Why the fuck does Beware sound so different from others on the same album? CRAPPY PRODUCTION. There are no other words.

theis

'Deftones' is their best album.

Picking one over the other is futile. Theyre great in their own individual ways.

Swords

i think SNW could've been better if it was produced by terry date.  everything would've just sounded and flowed 2gether better.

great thread. this has never been discussed before

Can I use this chair? Seriously can I use it?

Jacob

yeah, these discussions are getting ridiculous. it's not like they ever turn into flame-wars or anything, but every time someone states their "facts" and someone else has their own "facts" etc... everyone here likes the band and everyone has their favorite album. that's it.
pray nightfall release me
then i could wander, wander to deep sleep
