The Deftones are hard at work on their next album, which one source close to the band told Metal File "sounds nothing like what they've done in the past." Eros, which could be out before 2008 expires, will, according to bassist Chi Cheng, be "heavy as f--- with a sh--load of groove. ... "groove" sounds good too. especially if it's a more metal-groove like some modern southern hard rock/metal bands.
either way i'm sure their sound will be awesome.

Yeah I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. SNW made me like self-titled a lot more. Hopefully the pattern stops there and this next album won't make me like SNW instead of it.

yea, no shit. man, for a guy that was listening to them since late 95, i was shocked at how white pony sounded. it knocked me on my ass, it was just so different for them. i didnt know what to think at first. i knew it was good music, but it just took a while to grasp that it was deftones. that was a very interesting time to be a fan
