Also, there is a group of old-school dreampop/shoegaze bands they everybod totally like or at least respect

Sorry to ruin your thread, but TOOL may be the most boring band I've ever listened to. I seriously can't sit through four minutes of the same bass riff with moaning in the background while people call it genius work. There are a couple songs of theirs that I don't mind, but for the most part, I can't stand them.

I vaguely remember someone on here saying they sucked. which is weird, because that is probably the one band in the whole world that shouldn't be bashed by anyone. there should even be a law for that.

as for any other band, there will always be people complaining about them. but I'm sure there are a few bands that pretty much everyone on here likes to some degree. Glassjaw seems to be one of them.

not to be a party pooper though, but I can barely stand listening to their second album from start to finish. while I fucking love their first album.

it's not that weird if you consider all the "normal" people who only listen to radio, jazz or classical music and barely consider metal music at all.

what's weirder is if a lot of people hate Pink Floyd. they're one of the biggest bands in the world, even after all these years. and I don't think I know anyone who doesn't like "Wish You Were Here" (well, except for myself - I think it's boring as hell).
