unfortunately he's not the only one destroying video game franchises, but at least this is a start. I don't know if it's just a rumour, but a couple of years back I heard he got ahold of the license for a Fallout movie. if he makes one and it sucks, I will personally make sure that he never makes another movie.

I think he's quite a character, boxing his critics in the ring, making horrible b-movies.  He's got some balls that's for sure. I'd watch a Uwe Boll movie over some of the shit Hollywood craps out any day.  The easy solution is don't watch his films.

yes, if all you care about is simply not seeing his films. but  what he does is destroying video/computer game franchises by making crappy movies out of them. sure, most of them would probably not even have movies with their names on if it weren't for Uwe Boll, but if the movies suck then they'd be better off without. and then there is always a small chance (enormously small) that someone would actually make a great movie out of a video/computer game franchise. but Uwe Boll makes sure that small chance is reduced to zero.

The only video game movie that could've had potential was Alone in the Dark.  Bloodrayne?  Watch Underworld for the same effect.  House of the Dead?  An extremely entertaining zombie shooter with barely any plot and tons of action.  What was expected from that one?  Postal?  Come on, there was no plot beyond "going postal" in the first place.  What about the Resident Evil films that completely lost focus on the horror element of the games and turned the series into a bastardized Hollywood creations?  We should petition to get those writers/directors to quit doing what they love.  Fuck, let's go back to the Mario Brothers movie that, although entertaining, was extremely ridiculous.  Mortal Kombat?  Street Fighter?  Double Dragon?  Doom?  There aren't many movies that are based on video games that live up to fan expectations.   My favorite is Silent Hill and off the top of my head is the only one that I'll stand by.  Uve is doing what he loves and far be it from anyone to try and make him quit.  That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.  Video games, when well done, are just as entertaining as films and if I want a cinematic experience from any game I'll just go play it.  Crappy, campy b-movies are the lifeblood of horror cinema and although they aren't always filled with redeeming qualities have been and always will be around.

you definitely make a good point, and I agree that there aren't really any good movies based on video games (except for Silent Hill). but why rules out that there will never ever be any? now that Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Doom and Alien vs Predator have been made, and they are all big productions, maybe we're slowly gonna see a turn in this and more quality game movies will be made.

and sure, some of the movies he's making never had a chance in the first place, but Far Cry? Dungeon Siege? and worst of all, if it is in fact true, Fallout?

as for b-horror movies, I love those, but that's not all Uwe's making.

I see your point, but I stand by mine - he can do whatever kind of movies he likes, I just don't want him to slap on some name taken from a video/computer game just to get attention. as long as he's doing that, he should be stopped.
