There Will Be Blood

i dont wanna hear anything till i have the CD in my hand..... i hope i can have self control

wither-I

i have no control. i wish i would have (in hindsight) for SNW. and i should learn my lesson. but i wont. i wanna hear some "fuck you i hope you die" shit. and i want it asap. and it really seems like their gonna do it and stick to their schedule. pure momentum, pure fucking inertia.  8)

Cool.
I love this process, this whole rising anticipation for a new Deftones record. Just sit back and enjoy get more and more anxious with each new message about it untill the record comes out. Nice 8)

I'm pumped. And I hope FYIHYD is actually on the album.

Greatness..

Hello there folks. So these past few weeks have been just a little barbarous for us as we get closer to the actual recording part of this record. April14th is our official start date. Our longtime producer Terry Date graced us with a short visit early last week to hear the songs and do some pre-production. Now it's pretty much crunch hour trying to stick with our plan to have everything written before we start tracking the drums. Hard for me to describe what this record will sound like. So far, it's shaping up to be our most unorthodox piece of work, not only sound-wise but the way a lot of the songs have come about. There is also some of that good old "fuck you, i hope you die!" aggression I know a lot of you love and miss from us. So thats about it for now. Will keep you posted.

Love,
-chino

Ok so out of their five albums, it seems like only two (Adrenaline and Around the Fur) actually are constantly aggressive in this way.  I'm kind of tired of them being required by the fans to have this still.  They should be able to do whatever they want.

I think they always have done whatever they want.  They're just reassuring the meatheads that they'll have something to punch walls to.

i think they just like making aggresive music, no?? i think we look too far into alot of these aspects. like ive said and has been stated before by others as well, they seem to be working of an ever ascending "high" like with the production of atf and that era. alot of enthusiasm it seems with their case reverts to alot of substantial aggression along with the matter.

Didn't they say when writing SNW that they were making some "straight up evil music"?

I guess well have to wait and see, even though it doesn't really matter to me alsong as it sounds good.

Chino did say that, but that was before he went to do the TS tour. I think things changed when he came back to finish the album. You can kind of hear some of that "evil" sound he's talking about on the Ezrin demos (FOD, demo 5, demo 9, etc.)
