I heard that in 2000 was a easy year to be popular in music. Record sales were up for any artist. so maybe this is why deftones kinda had eposure. Now I think record sales are down 70% in the business then it should be at.

True but WP seemed to be a "right place right time" kind of album and Maverick also seemed to pour a lot of money in marketing wise.

In my time as a Deftones fan that seemed to be their major moment of exposure to the masses.
