Why don't they make a DVD or something?

They should work on a dedicated DVD after the next album while Chino is doing his thing with Team Sleep.  Only this time make it not suck.  A good DVD with a rare track ep would be superb.

good shit.

yo fuck albums and fuck record companies.  they should make EPs instead and release more DVDs.  There's a lot less pressure when it comes to making E.P.s compared to full albums, and if not then it fucking should be like that.  It would be kool, an E.P. composed of songs with the same or similar theme(s) and/or recorded in the same location with the same producer and released every year or so, instead of waiting 3 years for an album full of tunes that are all over the place and some of the tracks aren't really worth listening to anyways, or you need to be in a specific mood to fully enjoy it or not...

i have given up on an official dvd from them, i no longer think about a dvd, & i no longer care

i now consider "music in high places: deftones live in Hawaii" their official dvd. it's pretty damn good,(Chino's voice cracks on some songs) but it's still really good. the boy's republic, knife prty, feiticiara, & bqad turned out great. atf, headup & one weak are solid as well(just a few cracks), now... change, & digital bath electric stuff is rough(but Chino was sick). "but rock aint about doing everything perfect, it's about stickin it to the man". he got his ass out there sick & still tore it up. i think they should have just put the entire acoutics of change & digital bath, since the electric versions turned out so bad, or at least had the full acoustics in the bonus footage. but, ya gotta dig the scenery, location footage, interviews, bonus stuff etc, it's a solid dvd. 51 min for the feature, & about 80 mins of deftones stuff in there if you add the bonus stuff. realising an official dvd may never happen makes me appreciate this dvd that much more. so if live in hawaii is all we ever get, so be it, at least it's 1 dvd (cause that dog crap excuse for a dvd that came with b-sides & rarities was a joke. horribly put together. that doesnt count at all)

Theres heaps out there as already mentioned, I have around 20 gig of just Deftones live footage with at least 40-50% of it being DVD quality.

In my opinion the boat has already sailed, sure I'd love a DVD if it actually had footage I had'nt already seen but the changes of that are slim and any release now would never compare to footage or the Deftones live pre 2005.

If it was rare and quality ATF days content I'd eat it up, else I'm indifferent.

I'd like to see a home video with making of albums and stuff as well as a live dvd :)

Why would they need to make a DVD when they've got thousands of bootlegs and videos all over the internet and youtube?

cause those arent dvds, not everyone has a dvd burner, or wants some bootleg dvd. the real deal would be much better, like about every other band has. but oh well, at least they have "live in Hawaii", that's 1 proper dvd

13hourstoparadise

Naw, they are already 20 year old bad. Started mid-'88.

Jizzlobber

ive always been disappointed that Deftones havent made an in depth type of dvd or had a well staged production dvd...

Every other band is soft and just trying to bank off their fans, bootlegs are the real deal, there's hardly ever any band that releases a true show they've performed from start to finish, it's always a bunch of cut scenes and gimmicks with a mixing of different shows they've played on that tour. forget that, I've got maritime 96, bizarre 98, st paul 03, fuck it, those are all DVD quality, that's all you need.

I kind of expected a little more than a video journal about bull shit I didn't care about or you "had to be there" for it to be funny. I dunno about them anymore really though. But the Deftones will prob. make one, or else we'll all have to go to their houses and start dragging them out kicking and screaming untill they make the damn thing!!

"you've" got them, but i dont have a dvd burner

i have the 2 old generic crusty vhs tapes, one from new york in nov 97, & one from germany in 98(the one with real good quality cameras, etc. when Chino punched at that dude like "what the fuck!?") but those are still lookin shitty on vhs. only quality deftones dvd i got is music in high places

they should just make it real simple so it can actually get done. release the live in germany 98 & entertain me both on the same dvd

ahh wait, i forgot, i dont give a crap anymore

Ask nuno for some dvd boots or something, shop around a little bit, If I could make copies i'd glady give you them for free, I'll even pay the shipping.

I did happen to stumble across 3 DVD's they have on Target.com. School of Brilliant Things, Death By Decibels and the Music in High Places one, no idea if that helps cause they seem to be documentry dvds except the Hawaii one

yea it's good, i really like it a lot. it doesn cost much either. Chino's voice cracks on a few songs(cause he was sick from the sulfer in the volcanic fumes he breathed in all day one day there, plus that was around the time in early 2001 he was fresh off his voice blowing out), but also their acoustic perfromances of the boy's republic, & knife party are flawless. bqad & feiticiera turned our great too. he sounds great on all those.  just a few cracks on the other songs(not often). only change & digital bath turned out bad(but the acoustic parts are really good sounding). and there's interviews with them, & location footage of them doing stuff in Hawaii. it's a good buy for sure, i just watched the whole thing about a week ago for the first time in a while, enjoyed it a lot

it's listed as 51 mins, but that's just the feature show. counting the bonus interviews, footage, etc. it's more like 80+ mins. well worth the money in my opinion(a 10$ spot), saying as it's their only proper dvd
