It's a good album, as always I was hoping for WP II but you know, that's never going to happen. It's boosted the band and the live peformances, well they haven't been this consitent in a looooonnnnggg time. This place is death probably has the most depth, i can't stand CMND/CNTRL though.

WP II would be a drag.  I want a band that grows and changes and create their sound based on that .

So the night before last i was high as hell driving through the middle of no where stopped in the middle of the road turned the head lights off and let sextape play to nobody but me. probably the only sound 30 miles in any direction.  I have never felt so alone and so full at the same time, ever. amazing hard to put into words but that was a fuckin life experiance.

Try that with a song like Digital Bath, Pink Maggit or Fist. You're gonna die.

i couldn't even imagine that.

Wal-Mart ONLY carries edited versions. Never mind that you can buy all the profanity and nudity you want 2 aisles over in the movie section...
Guess profanity is ok in moves but not music....
Never tought about that. Good fucking point. I have not nor will I ever buy a cd at goddamn Wal-Mart.

I don't know about you guys, but I kind of grew tired of "Beauty School". Don't get me wrong, I like the instrumental part of it, but I kind of got tired of the cheesy chorus after listening too it for a while..

Personally I loved the album straight away, but I figured it was because it was just new, and I was so damn excited to hear new songs frm them. But the more I listened to it the more I loved it. Even now, there are some songs I prefer more than others, then a few days later it'll change. Almost all the songs frm Around The Fur, and some frm ST, took months to grow on me, but now I love them too, so, I guess it depends on what you most prefer regarding their music, and what you expected frm this album.

I agree, I think its an awesome album

deftones86

definately their best album since S/T.
CMND/CTRL, Beauty School, and This Place is Death are the songs I skip.
I thought I would get tired of Rocket Skates first but nope still one of my favorite tracks.
I really cant wait to hear Eros. I hope they release it while they write for the next album.

I am loving Diamond Eyes - the Deftones are the only band I can think of that being so many albums into their career are writing the best stuff they ever have.  I must admit, I thought the good times were coming to an end with the self titled record - I'm sure theres many that love it, but I think its the weakest of their catalogue.  It was for that reason I took a while to give Saturday Night Wrist a chance, but now years on, its still featured in my listening schedule today.  Diamond Eyes has continued the form stunningly.  I've become so conditioned to expecting a band to dip as the career progresses, that with the Deftones, the love for them has beenenjoyed with even more vigour.

i was thinking yesterday and noticed how diamond eyes is more of a group effort, but mainly chino and stephen pooling their ideas together and each of them got to put their songs on the album which is y the album is so good as opposed to the self-titled which was all mainly step and then snw, which was chino. guess they should collaborate more on each others' song parts rather than fighting over whose parts to work on.

Still listening to DE every day myself. I think I'd personally rate this album 2nd out of everything they've done, right after AtF (which I actually wore out for myself back when it came out).

Atf - DE - Adrenaline - S/T - SNW - WP

Am I the only one that thinks WP is the weakest album? Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a really good album with some great songs. It just happens to be the one I have the least desire to listen to these days. I really am just happy that the band is still around and making such awesome music though  :D
