wow you just don't get it. if you think the song is boring, should have been longer, and it sucks, i wont care. I can disagree but i wont really care. If someone says people that like this song are wanabees, aren't real fans or something like that than i might treat them like shit because they judge people for liking it.

Might be only you, then. Because 90% of the people who like this song are real pussies when they see a negative opinion about it.

I completely understand why a lot of you guys dont really dig the song.  It definitely is a new deftones sound.  I'd like to see them be more mellow and more melodic.  I know a lot of u guys want that old aggressive sound.  I think the album will have a good mix of heavy/melodic sounds on it.  I hope u guys can eventually enjoy Diamond Eyes as much as I am.  I think the song is great.

There's nothing wrong with liking a band with a certain producer more.

Terry Date is and will always be the perfect producer for the Deftones. Shaun Lopez and Bob Ezrin proved it and Nick Raskulinecz will prove it.

Terry Date is and will always be the perfect producer for the Deftones. Shaun Lopez and Bob Ezrin proved it and Nick Raskulinecz will prove it.

I'm not trying to sound like a complete dick. Its just like they can't keep doing the same otherwise i don't think most of us would them hold in such a high regard. And yes Terry did give them that defining sound.

White Pony was huge change compared to Around The Fur, but I loved it, why ? Because it still had something Deftonish in it, something that made me think " It's them, it's fucking them ".

Diamond Eyes chorus is a huge change compared to whatever they did before, and I don't like it. Why ? BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE DEFTONES AT FUCKING ALL.

And to prove that my opinion is not about the whole song, I totally think that the verses, the break and the end totally sounds like Deftones. Still new to me, but it tastes like fucking Deftones.

I don't think you few guys really get what we are complaining about the most (or at least me). It's not even the song structure, or the vocals, or the style, or anything at all like that...it's literally the guitar sound.

Do you put on any of the songs before SNW came out and not fucking hear that timeless, obvious Deftones guitar sound? Whether it be a totally different type of guitar, or different play-style, whatever (I'm not sure since I don't know shit about guitar techs), it totally changed after albums 1-4, totally. That's all I really mean.

Just listen to the opening rift to Hexagram for an example. But then again, you can turn on any Deftones song from S/T and back and hear that guitar in any single song.

I'm not hating on this song though, to be clear.

Vesanic, thats you opinion dude.  I personally think that this song is a great display of the deftones sound.  Its heavy, melodic, experimental, lush.  Im very happy about it.  Im sorry u dont like it man.  But I think the rest of the album will be fairly similar to this song.  Maybe this album wont be your favorite, thats fine.  I understand the guitars sound different, but I think its time for a change.  I don't get how the chorus doesn't sound like deftones??  It does to me....
