I wouldn't shit on that opinion. White Pony and S/T have both a totally unique mood and I can understand why some people like S/T more than WP, and vice-versa.

Up On Blocks

S/T comes second for me to ATF. I like both cds more than White Pony...maybe Diamond Eyes will blow them all out of the water or maybe it will take 3rd or 4th place with me.

Yozay!

Agreed, I feel however that Diamond Eyes will be a no-brainer over SNW. I like SNW, but you can tell the band was falling apart and just tried to go somewhere on the peak of a mountain that they just couldn't reach. DE seems like the guys were thrown straight up to the top of that mountain by being brought so close after the tragedy that they are just about to unleash something that none of us can even comprehend or begin to understand. Though I have no idea what to expect, I feel this album is about to blow us all away. I haven't had this much anticipation since 2000. I can't wait to hear it!

Diamond Eyes will (most likely) just add another awesome album to an absolutely original and amazing discography that just stands so well and most bands never even get the chance to make. There's always a filler album etc but Deftones, despite a few minor glitches here and there, have strayed away from that.

Not many bands can do that.

I'm just glad that I can recognise that and really, really appreciate a band I love and make my life that bit better.

dai the flu is very much influensed byradiohead's "climbing up the walls"
I never noticed that before.  ;D
i also never noticed this for 2 songs i listen to very regularly.
I know man, Dai The Flu is maybe my favorite Defontes song.  And I can't begin to calculate how many times I've heard OK Computer.

MADNESS!

Deftones-argentina

Prince obviously is the Myspace track we all thought was for eros. "digital bath-like", "treebly guitars".

Which myspace track ?

Inkblades

Do you mean the song at the beginning of the Eros snippet videos? I think that song is on Eros.

so what did you prefer about ST, just as a matter on interest?

the big thick sounding guitars. i thought stephan stepped up his game here. also deathblow is one of my all time favorite deftones songs and to me the album had a more lush, romantic, moving feeling to it. it just appeals to me more as a listener. to me it was like they took the soft aspects of white pony that i loved and expanded on that and gave me something i'd never heard from them before but it still had the heavy kick you in the balls stuff. the end of bloody cape is a chino highlight for me and when girls telephone boys is just good ol' heavy as fuck. i just thought the production was a bit tighter and it showed me a side of deftones i connected with even more personally. but as i said the guitar sound on that album really did it for me. hexagram is just so fucking big sounding and i loved it and still do. don't get me wrong white pony is a phenomenal album but ST just one up'd it for me. i don't really expect anyone to agree with me. i will say white pony had more variety though. around the fur is still the top of my list though.

Fair. I do like the the thick sound Stef went for too. Personally, WP owns it for since the transition from ATF to WP is pretty damn impressive, and also for me the songs have a lot more substance... there are more filler tracks on ST for me in comparison to WP.

Each to their own though! ATF top though I agree!

This ? ( The intro I mean )

yup, I guess it from the two descriptions we got. I know, It would be weird since they said eros was shelved...maybe they didn't shelve the entire album and a few tracks appeared. Might be wrong about this, but it sounds so obvious to me from the descriptions...deftones's word has never been that unbreakeable anyway, if you get what I mean.

Yeah, I love s/t man, it's a great album. I mean I feel as though this album could be on the same scale as White Pony both musically and commercially. I can see this maybe crossing over into the mainstream again here and there.
