why is everyone mad about the new album coming out late? Its not like your waiting for Tool! Deftones will get it done when they can, shit comes up and they cant do everything they or you want them to. They are people too, they got other shit to do! If you want the album done, go to where ever they are recording, kick Chino in the nuts and start singing!!!

Because the Deftones are my fuckin' favorite band. They gave some good taste to the bad moments of my life, they made me feel high like never before, they gave me a new definition of music. I listen to tons of music, but it's been 5years that I can't go through a day without one or two tunes from the Deftz. I keep waiting for Eros, I want some new stuff, some new stuff that will blow my mind once again. I can't stand being told one date for the album release and then another date. It's like you have to wait for christmas whereas you're already on christmas day. And considering I'm not patient at all, you can guess why I'm getting mad. And for Tool, yeah Tool's a great band, but damn, Deftones have this unique mood, no matter which song it is (except Pink Cellphone maybe), Tool is some good deep music, but... not the Deftones. That's my opinion of course, you can have another and totally opposed one. But I want to precise: I'm not getting mad against THEM, I understand what is happening to them and so on, I'm just pissed with the time, that's all.

The only thing that bothers me is the lack of info and updates.  I wish they would do what dredg did with the new album with the videos and shit.  They tried with the studio updates but then that shit failed.  That shit pisses me off.  But whatever, we get it when we get it.  Im sure it will be worth the fucking wait.

i used to really love the deftones. but i really dont look forward to their releases like i used to.

i know im at a deftones message board. so if u get offended i guess i understand.

but after SNW i could care less about deftones. i just hope chi gets better

thx for agreeing, but i didnt mean to imply that i didnt care for the new album, i want that muther fucker like no other, but its just not coming when WE want it. Deftones said it themselves, they write for themselves.

i joined here to talk to every conceivable deftones fan around the world. 'likeminded' people, so to speak.
instead i come back to check up on some news and some old forum friends, and i find these bitter greedy people around here!

deftones have ALWAYS been slow when it comes to album releases. and even now, when Chi is in a coma and all, you STILL want to bitch about it?  seriously?
i dont know why but that really dissapoints me somehow.
Personally, im happy that the dudes still keep on playing, after all the shit the band's been through. Im extremely thankful that i at least get the chance to see em again in Amsterdam, and to get another one of their albums, PERIOD.

what does everyone predict eros will sell it's first week?

i'm gonna say 45,000 the first week. snw only did 76,000 the first week, and cd sales are way worse now than even then. long gone are the days they could threaten 200,000 in a debut week. in the past 4 years only piece of dog shit nickelback have seen sales goes up, WAY UP. people are morons

true, the Chi thing changed the whole album. but even if that never happened to him, the album still wouldnt have hit in 2008. i was thinking march-april 2009 if all went well, which it obviously didnt. they said they were done with the album in like Oct 2008. who knows why they didnt mix & master it & release it. maybe it wasnt very good for their standards, so they started making new stuff. now i guess we're looking at a whole new album basically, & maybe another year+ wait. it's fine though, shit happens (plus they're always super slow making albums anyway. but at least not anywhere near as slow as tool, i'm glad i'm not a fan of that band)

DOn't try to find out why... Some Deftones fans disliked SNW a bit, it didn't sound like the real Deftones to them, or it bored them, or whatever. I don't agree, but to each his own opinion...
