Franks effects in Prince are unbelievable!!!!

I think a lot of people (by Deftones standards of late) will get into the Deftones off the back of Diamond Eyes. To me every Deftones record since ATF has been very 'alternative' in comparison to the mainstream market it's being entered into. For me Deftones have relied on the listeners willingness to invest their time getting to grips with their last few albums. Diamond Eye's doesn't seem to have these shackles, i think the songwriting and most importantly the melodies are such that they just work instantly, it's not like WP or ST, where you're left piecing together the puzzle.

Three words to describe it:

fresh, accessible, relevant

Yes! I noticed them especially in the chorus. Very cool!

Also the effects in the beginning of "This Place is Death" has a huge M83 influence.

I feel m83 on Beauty School too, which has really grown on me.
I didn't much care for it first listen, but now, after near 80, it's one of my favourites on the album.
The first 6 songs are fucking dynamite - can't wait to hear the final versions (maybe even on vinyl?)

After nearly 10 straight days of listening to nothing but Diamond Eyes, I found myself compelled to throw Adrenaline on. I hadn't listened to it in awhile, and songs from it don't usually come up in shuffle (I blame Steve Jobs).
It fucking ruled.
I had somehow forgotten how great that album really is, (especially Fireal).
So if you find yourself disaffected by the band's new direction (unlike me), maybe you should grab some headphones, a bong (&c.), and put on Adrenaline.
If nothing else, it certainly makes for a lovely Sunday evening.

Everyone has the whole damn album already.  Just post the remix on YouTube or something.  Still gunna buy it but I just want to hear the remix.

I did the same, I was working on my new guitar (re-doing the paint) and I listened to White Pony, Around The Fur and Adrenaline and it just reminded me why I love this band so much. Adrenaline is my all time favourite, it reminds me of the days I use to listen to it non-stop whilst playing Pokemon on my gameboy. And luckily I got to see them play it all live in a club.

Also, a lot of Chino's vocals on DE are so reminiscent of Adrenaline vocals. With the high distortion and whispered sighs.

I haven't listened to DE in 3 days now after averaging 3 a day since the leak. Hoping I'm excited again when the realness is in my hands! I listened to a few of their records relentlessly when they dropped and got burnt out temporarily with them. Hoping DE holds a place in my heart after years of listening like the rest have. By the way, thanks again guys for the right connections on the leak and like I said, I'll still buy it bc a matter of fact, I'm buying 7 for family n friends who wouldn't necessarily go out and buy the record. Love em till DEATH!!!!!!!!!
Pushing you back but still you ain't goooooooooone!!!!!!

Haha!!! silly me. just noticed the "nOOb" by my name and put it together with "get bored", "teenager", etc. Pretty slick. I guess it'll be a while before I become a "teenager" with hair on the ballsack!!LOL  Can't I be a "doob" for now?  ;)

I think the entire album, in one way or another, is about Chi.

Its almost like the boys wanted to make something for Chi to listen to while in the coma. At least I get that feeling when I listen to it.

Almost like Chino is saying get your ass up buddy "Time will see us realign", "follow me into another realm", "I will save your life", etc etc. The entire album is this way. Like Chino is just chillin in Chi's dreams talking to him.
"This place is death
I know you feel the same"

I posted this in the Twitter thread but it's definitely also relevant here:

"Debuted a new Far song today and currently mixing some Deftones Diamond Eyes b-sides. It's like 1998 DAY up in this...." - Shaun Lopez
