I am surprised that so many people dislike the ST. I can not think for a bad song in it.

s/t is one of their finest work with terry date and snw is their shittiest stuff, done with ezrin and lopez... thats why i just hate when people lump those two records together because they sound nothing like each other.

so what if the band went through bad times during the making of the two, music wise theyre very distant from each other.

you are now my best friend.
seriously though, agree 100% with you.

i've always had the same feeling. ST is one of my favorites and it just has a MASSIVE sound. hands down best sound stephen has gotten.

Man i fuckin love s/t. My first deftones record, and it just made me feel unique for liking this band cuz they didn't sound anything like what was on the radio at the time. It was like discovering the bermuda triangle. And that minerva video was so trippy.

I disliked S/t for so long because it was such a huge disapointment to me after white pony. I thought tons of things were missing to make it an epic album like WP. The songs seemed unfinished and thrown together with no cohesiveness. Now i like it with more perspective, but it is still one of my least favorite from them.

but a least favorite deftones album is better than most bands could ever hope for.

and i always disliked moana, for i don't know why, im sorry moana lovers.

that's exactly my relationship to S/T as well.

but I on the other hand love Moana :)

and Battle-Axe, which is probably the best song on the album. might be one of their best songs ever actually.
pray nightfall release me
then i could wander, wander to deep sleep

Starz

I also think Battle-Axe is their greatest song, ever.

off the subject, but does anyone think Stef should maybe do the next album using a 6 string again? i dunno, i just kinda prefer his 6 string sound of the first 3 albums

i just prefer 6 string guitars in general i guess

definitively, it-s time for him to go back. but I should admit I like the 8 stringed more than the 7.

Oh, and I definetively preffer SNW over s/t because of all the colours snw has in their songs and ST doesnt.

beaverwithfishyshoes

sometimes i dont get why other people then do like tones. that "goosebumping lushness" (!) is more than represented on snw; hole in the eart, beware, cherry waves, riviere and other (partially) spacey tracks like mein or rats.

TheShade1989

I love ST, but I remember I first listened to it before I actually liked more than a few songs, and I listened to Hexagram first, and thought..."NO. Too loud/scream-ish" and didnt go back to it for quite a while afterwards, wen they all grew on me. I'm weird like that. I hated Rx Queen at first and dont even remember why, but then went back to it and adored it. Still, Adrenaline and Around The Fur are perhaps the albums I like the least amount of songs on, so I guess it's just that I find that their music's improved a lot since then, into more the kind of thing I like.

Sushi-X

I remember thinkin the same about Hexagram first time I heard. That opening riff had me going and them bam! the screamin comes in. After a while it just grew on me.

Adrenaline is still my fav although DE might take over...Adrenaline is what got me into the Deftones...So unique. The screaming an emotions in the songs...Hooked right away. And as they progressed as did i with there music...All there albums are my favorite...

Hesperian Death-Horse!

This is the first I've seen any mention of the vinyl format:

http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Eyes-Deftones/dp/B003A7I53O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1269584443&sr=1-2

I thought for sure it would be on the official site pre-order if they were going to produce it at all and when I didn't see it, I assumed there would be no  vinyl. Of course, amazon.com is not the most reliable source in these matters.
