holy shit on Stephs new guitar.. Probably had ESP hook up the 8-string because of his Influence from Meshugga.. this shall be intresting... That low fuckin guitar.. on new deftones album.. may result in a new perspective of deftones sound.. but I can tell from chinos old lyrics they are so metaphorical and have concept if you research the word "Eros" from the tentative new Album title see what you get.. and let your mind do the rest... google that shit.. just trying to put some brainstorming out there for the new material.. peace

Definitely, hope it'll be more brutal in places. I like the fact Chino said it was going to be quicker/faster. Sounds promising.

naaa here... pretty dry.

i remember hearing a good while back that abe was experimenting with the double bass..
i thik that would be nifty and most unorthodox..
i also am getting the vibe that this album will be fast like atf but more diverse like wp.

i like a slow deftones tune here and there but my favorite songs of theirs are pretty "driven".

as far as brutal goes i dont really care...
brutal to me is like dark and hard.
and fast is just fast is fast...

songs like feiticiera, street carp, lhabia, dai the flu, hite, birthmark, lifter, (and others not mentioned) are straight up my gully cuz they are fast with rad reakdowns and not too damn droney or dark... im passed all that gloomy stuff im a happy guy now. i need some upbeat stuff fo realz....
