Of course nobody likes knowing it's a stock photo, but that's how these things are done.
Nobody likes seeing how the sausage is made.
Don't look behind the curtain, it'll upset you.

Hooves, colons and eyelids.

But yeah, I wouldn't have known if there was no post on here saying it was a stock-photo!

I need some bigger curtains. None beef.

rock_n_frost

I live in the UK. If I pre-order from Amazon.co.uk do you think I'll receive my copy of Diamond Eyes sooner than if I pre-order from the Warner site?

Without a shadow of a doubt.

Check nearer the time as some vendors have offers (ie free posters, etc).

Sorry if this has already been posted guys!

According to newly released promotional materials, the Deftones have brought forward the release date of their new album "Diamond Eyes" to May 04th. The move is more than likely a response to the recent leaking of the effort to the internet, which was allegedly done by an undisclosed music website writer.

Sweet, dude. The day it leaked was march 19th, that was my birthday. Best surprise ever. But the actual release date of the album is so much more badass.  :)

I finally listened to the album with some proper headphones on last night. and all I can say is OH MY GOD! got to hear much more of Sergio's bass and he does a tremendous job imo. and Frank's effects were even more in-your-face and totally awesome. this is his best work with the band to this day, no question about it. I especially love what he does in Royal and YSTB.
pray nightfall release me
then i could wander, wander to deep sleep

if its frank only on this album effect-wise, then its not just his best work, he stepped up big time to a WHOLE other level i never heard him on.if the booklet would say it had some additional musicians or additional engineer/blip blop guy on his department i wouldnt be surprised.
but if its just his melodies, sounds, background sounds etc then im very very impressed

Wow as a designer I wasn't happy with the type, but dug the photo. Now knowing it is a stock photo saddens me. (maybe there is some sort of explanation for it, cost wise).

Or maybe because it's a fuckin' excellent picture and they thought it would be perfect for the album..
I don't get what's wrong with the picture being from stock. It's awesome,  probably the best cover they've ever had (ok, exception made for Like Linus  :)). I must say that I never really appreciated Deftone's covers. White Pony is still their best album to me, but the cover is not appealing at all and is way too minimal for such a huge album.

I'm pretty sure it's only Frank. everything sounds like him, if you compare to what he's done before. I think the production itself makes a big difference too - on previous records his sounds haven't been nearly as obvious all the time, only of a few songs. remember how it took a live recording of WGTB for people to realize Frank's awesome work in it?

im impressed with all the sounds on de, but for example that sound in the chourus of diamond eyes, those sounds barley heard is too professional to be him (of course i could be wrong and i hope so) .. he to me is more of a sound guy who plays the crappy synth in rapture or those notes on wtgb, which is awesome, but those are kind o f prominent melodies, there too much barley heard shit on this thats amazing and booster for the songs. that sort of stuff producers know

Speaking of Frank, I pretty much never heard any of his sounds except for on this album a few times, so that's a big deal. Part of the reason might be because I have very crappy headphones, but maybe I just hear it without noticing it. A lot of the time I though some distorted guitar sounds were his effects, so, what do I know? He definitely had a lot more on this album though.

to be fair I think Franks sounds are a bit more clear and amplified from previous work, but have definitely always heard Frank's synths.

please, next time you listen to digital bath or change, listen to it more carefully.

and this is 2 exemples on tons of songs. But this is the songs that made me open my eyes on Frank's work. on ATF i wasn't aware too much about it. (though his work on my own summer is easily hearable now)

Frank made Change the classic it is now, without him the song isn't half as good.
