I think the next genre you're going to like is ambient black metal.  it's heading that way.

yeah I noticed. it's going beyond music at this point. I also tried The Angelic Process. Oh boy, that was an intense experience.

a) Alcest anyone? I know that's it's not really post-rock or something, but..
b) Kayo Dot - Coyote is incredibly wtf but great. Choirs of the Eye is greater, more emotional etc
c) British Sea Power - Man of Aran was quite intense with the movie;
d) Envy are awesome
e) I'd like some heavy-shoegaze. I love the wall of noise. Post-shoegaze? what now?

alcest is great. ive been feeling a heavy shift myself, must be the heat...

ive been really enthralled in the heavier shoegaze lately too.
i know its not that heavy, but "talking with fireworks" from twilight sad has that massive wall of noise, and it just posesses me, and runs me, into tangible walls...

well, I haven't heard anything else except Man of Aran; but then again, you have to listen to this album with the silent movie Man of Aran.
Though at times music is too intense so it captures you more than the movie itself :)

Well, it's not exactly my every-day-music stuff, but I did enjoy it very much.
Though the mind's setting has to be set to "drone" :)
