Just came across this thread, and I have to re-post what I said in a Melanie thread because Xerces deserves it:

All I know is sometimes I really can love some of SNW even though I overall am a little disappointed with it at times. Like for instance my head unit shuffled to Xerces on my iPod in my car just before and I turned it up (I have 2 Rockford 10"s in a ported box/Alpine HU) and not only does it sound sick as fuck but it's hard to believe that such heart-felt vocals and lyrics could come from someone like Chino...it really does affect your emotions. And the music itself in the song is so ridiculously good too, such a perfect match with the singing. I have to give it up for that song really. Sometimes I have to go back and listen to songs that I forget about to remember how well-made they really are.

The song really does hit and affect me just as much as Mascara always does if not more.

I hate how the guys fucked it up gettin down the volume of the final 'solo'... it was just so perfect in the demo version. I bet if you didn't hear the demo version you wouldn't realize there's a solo at the end. (Is there a solo on the album version? or is it just my mind putting the solo part on the final result?)
