Yeah, I'd agree about their newer stuff.  However, older eighteen visions was pretty hard and A7X was good when they actually screamed a bit.  Now they think they're the new gnr or something.

I do think that as far as epic scope and atmosphere goes they were ahead of their time.  I just can't do it.  The time period between the early 60s and the mid 90's really creeps me out and I have no idea why.  I have seizures when I hear disco and anything from the Vietnam era makes me want to die.  I really believe that the difference between music then and music now is that it was more relevant on a social level and now it's all about commercialism.  Of course they all had their sellouts, but now it's trendy to be trendy.  Does that make any sense?

Cool.   I'm not saying you have to be older to get the music, just that it's so much harder for me to relate or feel what they've done and therefore I don't like it all.  I respect it a thousand times over, but can't stand it.  Sort of a strange dichotomy, but it's the only way to explain it.
