Why the fuck does that matter? Who cares if it's random, It looks good and he probably did it because it was probably on offer. Or maybe he just likes the fuckin' design.

have you been dumped or something? relax, read all my and other member's comments before you make a fool out of yourself. no one has got any problem with it. its a cool body and since I never have seen such a combination i just wonder if someone knows more about it, cuz i'm a fan of steph.

He is sponsored by ESP and they make much better guitars for his style of writing music than Fender does.  Also, he plays 7-strings and as far as I know there's no off the shelf 7-string Fender Teles.  He'd need a custom one which would most likely require sponsorship.  But as I said before, he's sponsored by ESP.

Can professional guitarists like Steph not be sponsored by more than one brand?

By the way, I have seen there are Fender 7strings. I know Fender isn't a real metalguitarist brand but I'm sure they could customize a guitar that would fit Steph's playing. But is ESP allowed to do this, I mean, Telecasters are Fender guitars.

I think as a general rule you are only sponsored by one company for a certain product.  He's probably sponsored for his strings, amps, pedals, and other stuff too.  It doesn't make sense to be sponsored by more than one company for a particular piece of equipmant.  The whole point is that you're supposed to say "I only use brand-X for my equipment-Y needs because they're the best!".  You can always buy and use other stuff if you want though.

One thing is that I remember reading an interview a long, long time ago about Head and Munky from Korn.  They said something about how they used all kinds of different guitars on one of their albums but since they were sponsored by Ibanez they had to use Ibanez guitars on stage.

Stef gets all the fucking free custom shop esp guitars he wants basically.  So referring to why does he have a telecaster body for the 7 string, its because he can.  Those guitars are about 3000 to btw.  Not cheap and there not fucking FENDERS(which suck for metal).

Fender may have even built a custom shop 7 string Strat for Stef.

You can mod pickups. In this case, chances are he got active pickups or stacked humbuckers.

As if it would ever expire, Steph has been using ESP's since the beginning of the band, Obviously hasn't been endorsed all that time though. The fender shaped guitar has the ESP Headstock and it's got to be the first 7 string telecaster of it's type.

Maybe he just wanted a change in shape or maybe it's a prototype the company asked him to try out, he liked it then asked for more (hence the white one)

ESP custom guitars can come in most any shape.  Yes its a telecaster shape made by ESP not fucking fender.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love ESP, I just got myself an ESP Viper standard in regular Camo about 3 days ago. I love it! as far as Chino goes, yes he is very sloppy at playing his guitar, so it really doesn't matter what guitar he uses. along with all the other brands listed he uses, I remember when WP came out, he was playing a ESP viper; cherry coloured I think. He is also listed on the ESP artist page along with Steph. I have to agree I fucking love Stephen's Horizons especially the LV and his custom camo!

He's already stated they're the best guitars in the world and he wouldn't use anything else.

chino played a cream colored fender tele with team sleep and i know he had yamaha pacifica teles too. they look different. chino has played a fender jaguar through most of these new tours with deftones. toc and family values tour. the only time i remember seeing steph with a fender was the my own summer video..a black strat, but it was probly just for the video. never on stage...and i rememder seeing him with a fender jazz bass (or what looked like one) for needles and pins on the self titled tour a few years ago.
