Fun Facts:

Rocket Skates was released for free as the first song from the Diamond Eyes album via http://gunsraizorsknives.com which now redirects to the band's official website.

As a part of international Record Store Day on April 17, 2010, 3,000 copies of "Rocket Skates" were released in a limited edition 7" vinyl format with a "picture sleeve" supporting the unofficial holiday.

The Rocket Skates single was released on white vinyl and cd. It includes the M83 Remix along with the single.

Rocket Skates was the first single released without bassist Chi Cheng, who was in a coma during the time of recording following a car accident in October 2008.

As part of a promotion for Diamond Eyes, a free download of the single was made available on February 23, 2010 through the band's website for 24-hours accompanying new information about the album. The surge of visitors trying to receive to download crashed the website's servers, resulting in temporary technical difficulties.

The music video directed by 13thWitness was released on March 9, 2010.

Frontman Chino Moreno told Spin magazine this is one of his favorite tracks from Diamond Eyes. He added it is a "heavier" tune with "beautiful yet violent imagery," that has a fantasy vibe similar to "Knife Party."
