TOMMY LEE, TOOL'S DANNY CAREY TO PERFORM AT GUITAR CENTER DRUM OFF

Guitar Center have announced a loaded line-up, featuring a Who's Who of modern rock drummers, to perform at their Drum-Off '09 grand finals taking place in Los Angeles, January 8. Especially for the occasion, Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee will be presenting his "Bezerk" project which will showcase a host of star names, including Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver), Abe Cunningham (Deftones), Sully Erna (Godsmack), and José Pasillas (Incubus).

The annual event, now in its 21st year, features the five finalists, chosen from thousands of applicants, performing for a grand prize of $40,000 in cash and prizes, along with the honor of being recognized as the nation's top undiscovered drummer. Other than Lee's troop, the festivities also include a collaboration between Tool's Danny Carey and Mastodon's stick man, Brann Dailor. The evening's entertainment will be completed by a special tribute to deceased Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, by son Jason, as the icon is inducted into Guitar Center's Drum Legends.

Tickets for the show at The Wiltern are $10 and are available now through Live Nation. For more info, click here.
