it's alarming how many people that shaped my childhood have died lately.

Yeah...it's pretty crappy. Makes ya feel old.

At least his best work was already behind him.  Don't get me wrong, it's sad that he died, but he has plenty of great movies he'll be remembered for.  Unlike someone like Heath Ledger who was just getting started.
