My friends have paid for me to go to Amsterdam for my birthday, I have been doing loads of research about it online but I want to know what it's really like as the guides are pretty much the same and I know that some people here have been, so what is it really like then?

i'm dutch so, been there dozens of times (shoppin, concerts)..

it's pretty cool, lot of foreigners there. U should check out the melkweg (its a joint where they have a lot of cool gigs).
