Family & Friends Of Late Deftones Bassist Chi Cheng Launch 'Buckle Up For Chi' Seat Belt Awareness Campaign

Family and friends of late Deftones bassist Chi Cheng have united to establish the 'Buckle Up For Chi' campaign to raise awareness for seat belts. Cheng was severely injured as a result of a November 2008 car accident. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, though his sister Mae was and managed to make it out with minor injuries. Cheng ultimately succumbed to his injuries this past April after years of living in a semi-comatose state following the crash.

Among those involved in the 'Buckle Up For Chi' campaign are Chi's mother Jeanne Marie Cheng and Gloria Cavalera—the wife of Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera. You can read more on the campaign and show your support through purchasing the various merchandise over at www.Buckleupforchi.com.
