This is the way it should've sounded (and we've already discussed this cover in particular quite a few times).  The fact is, if you aren't a SS fan, then you won't like anything they do, and if you are unfamiliar with them the cover will probably sound horrible.  However, it's hard not to like a heavier band that tips its hat to a unique group like the Deftones.  It's their own spin, take it or leave.  Suicide Silence fucking owns, but that live version did not do them justice at all.

To me, heavy music is the only genre that pushes all emotion to its limits.  It's raw feeling in musical form.  Sure, some of it is ridiculous, and the lyrical content could be written by a pissed off 12 year old, but name another genre that has no limits whatsoever.
