so i was reading about coma's on a random webpage and it said that sometimes people that are in comas wake up and cant remember how to do certain things. thats when i thought to myself....WHAT IF CHI FORGETS HOW TO PLAY BASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In situations like this, things could go wrong a million ways in a million different directions.  There's just no sense pondering every single negative thing possible, it's only counter-productive, and you spread negative vibes around.  Plus you're doubting the strength of the Chi.  For shame.
Of course he may lose sum bass playing ability, things like that are bound to happen in a post-coma state.

Being in a coma is like losing the self (in some cases temporarily, in serious cases forever).  It's going to take time for one to re-find the self again once one recovers/wakes up.
I wouldn't be surprised if Deftones don't tour at all in 2009.  May be it better to expect them not to.
As long as the Chi has vital signs, there is hope yet.

i understand and respect your feeling on this...but for someone like Chi who has such passion and respect for his form of art, waking up with the ability to remember every aspect of his life and not being capable of doing what he loves ever again may actually be a worse situation in his eyes than complete memory loss or even death.  I see Chi as a person that cares about what he does that much.

we can all hope and pray (if it suits you) that none of these possible scenarios come true.  i am hopeful that he will wake up, recover, and all of us fans will one day be treated to the most meaningful and memorable deftones tour in the history of the band

Yeah ive also been reading about coma's on the net...

Honestly, its all very bleak stuff..sometimes it can take a year just to regain the lost muscle mass...atrophy

and apparently every day that goes by in a coma, mkes the recovery ever so slightly harder..preferably if you are in a coma, best scenario is to come out of it in about a week..any longer then they get more doctors on you

sigh..i pray that chi gets the strength very soon..starts realising that his coma world totally sucks...he is such a fun character, he probably cant stand being stuck there this long
