People in the chat are saying they actually did play Tempest. Bloody Cape is the one they skipped. Now playing HITE.

Moana91

So it seems Tempest was played as song 4 and it was an error on Setlist fm

Now there's truly 0% chance of getting anything before this tour leg ends in April...

I wasn't expecting anything new lmao. They must've had something happen and the project is delayed (once again) Don't expect news anytime soon

Formant

It sounds like they're pretty proud of the new material from those few interviews over the last year and a half.

Hopefully, it's just a desire from WB to market the album proper. Similar to Ohms, with the album art slowly forming on their website etc.

Deftones' recent rise in popularity, seen in this arena tour and them headlining nearly every bill they're on this year, may just mean they're a priority for the record company to "do it right".

Inkblades

^ Agreed. I doubt anything happened like the mixing problems they had on Gore, especially with Nick R as the producer, so it's more likely they and WB just really, really want to capitalize on all the new fans and try to make this their biggest album yet.

LG95

I'm confident it's coming soon.

So has anyone doing the meet and greet just straight up asked when we could expect something?

Haven't seen anyone mention it on Reddit yet.

Going to have to start a 2026 gang chant soon. lol

The quietude has been...odd, especially in the middle of the biggest tour of their career. No radio station interviews, no murmurings from the press, not even any recent "I ran into one of them and they said..." social media posts.

DEFTONES WHY ARE YOU SO CLOSE TO US YET SO FAR AWAY

gavinkfox

They also could be keeping quiet for a reason

Formant

Though I do think the relative silence is odd, there may be bigger plans in store for the reveal. Something more involved than a mid-tour single debut.

I'd love to be wrong, because I'd love new music from them; but there may be more profit for WB and the band if it's a gradual buildup to a release.

Tokyo online again a few hours ago. He likes the lurk.

Yeah well no news or anything, not even a word of the album, not even a song name, tracklist, album name, album cover, nothing. So it'll be quiet till then.

RaptureWS

Even with Deftones, I would not have believed you if you told me we would still have radio silence 11 months after this interview. Torture, man.....

I thought about it again, and honestly it makes sense. I've already said this but this arena tour is a big challenge for them. They probably wanted to make sure to do it right, and not make it more complicated by focusing on let alone playing new material.

The same could be said about the setlist. You're going to headline arenas around the country and play in front of all those people, of course you're gonna want to play your most popular tracks.

I let curiosity get the best of me and I watched the Sacramento concert on YouTube. It feels like being a Bulls fan watching them play the NBA finals in the 90s. I mean shit man, Stephen founded this band in that city and there he is at the end of the show at the biggest music venue in town throwing out a whole bunch of picks. That's like guitar hero stuff! That's also why I'm thinking they're not playing new stuff yet, and looking at the comments, they're not getting less criticism than before, they didn't want to add to the pressure. Even Lance is a Sacramento native I think, and there he is headlining arenas all of a sudden lol

Also I'm surprised there wasn't any discussion about the show interlude since it was first brought up. I don't even listen to Deftones anymore as surprising as it may seem, but that's about as 'new Deftones music' as it gets even though it may not be a full fledged song.
