I like the verse, and the end rocks.. but I can't get over the first 23 seconds.  An intro is important to me, and that intro just makes me cringe.  The riff is lazy and doesn't sound good, the drums sound late (though I suppose that's what they were going for), it's just noise for the sake of noise to me.  I understand everyone is entitled to their opinions, and we're all hardcore Tones fans here... but that intro makes me cringe like the Romantic Dreams chorus does!

That whole song - beginning and all - is badass. So dark. So anguished. So eerie in its melodiousness. Definitely should have been the closer, with MX being the hidden track. And I'm usually feeling the anger within Damone after having to hold my finger on the fucking scan button for eight minutes just to get to it.

I like the whole album, don't like leathers much besides stephs riff near the end, and swerve city is kind of weak. Besides that, it's just too short.

I skip Swerve City every time it seems. Just not feeling it. What Happened To You is growing on me though. Definitely weak for a Deftones closer but it works.

As far as Deftones closers go, they've pretty much all been weak.

Fist is ok
Damone is absolutely awful
Pink Maggit is boring
Moana is meh
Riviere being their only closer I really like, and it's one of my favorite songs
This Place is Death (and 976-Evil) are the only songs off DE that I just don't like

But What Happened To You? is growing on me, it's my second favorite closer of theirs, easily.

Fist and Pink Maggit are two of the most intense closers of any album I've ever heard!

I love how different this album is. With Sergio, they seem a little more mellow. I prefer Adrenaline/ATF, but I have been loving these last two albums. I wish they would let us hear Eros.

Strange to see how can one's mind change.  I hated goon squad's chorus like fuck, but now, after a few listens I think it's a really cool song

I'll be honest, I've downloaded a leak and while I own a hard copy of every Deftones album, I'm not sure about this one yet. Sonically it's incredible as always, but the songs aren't grabbing me. Although Diamond Eyes was like that when I first heard it and I love that album above most now.

Tempest is so fucking old school too, brilliant, it reminds me of Adrenaline so much.

I think it's Chino's vocals and just the guitar tone, it sounds old and early 90s, tape recorded, just really organic.

I am very curious to know what poltergeist and graphic nature say on the clean version of the album .. does it say something besides fuck? Or does it just not say anything in the song on those parts? ..

A little slow for my liking at a first glance, actually yeah too slow. That being said they can do NO WRONG in my eyes haha. So far I would have to say that "Goon Squad" is the more "classic" Deftones song on the album and that's probably why it's my favorite. I like 3-4 song's right off the bat. Leathers, Tempest, Rosemary and Goon Squad are tough.

Didn't get my preorder from deftones.com today

But I did get an email with another link to the digital download because they said the link this morning exlcuded What Happened to you? That track wasn't excluded, they just put a ? in the title of the file name so my puter didn't like it when I extracted it. 

I had the exact same issue with my digital download and WHTY last night. Just checked my e-mail and they re-sent me the album download with glitches corrected. Which means little because I bought the album at the store today. But nice of them regardless.
