I feel like I have always liked White Pony less than everyone else. I like it a lot, but Self Titled and Saturday Night Wrist connect with me a lot more. I really have enjoyed KNY, though, my favorites at the moment are Swerve City, Gauze, Entombed, and Poltergeist.

My ranking would probably be:

S/T
SNW
DE
KNY
ATF
WP
Adrenaline

And even that was hard to make, it's hard to put in some kind of order.

Still loving this album immensely.  I've only been listening to it once a day (at night) so I don't wear it out.  KNY is made for nighttime.  The track listing is perfect.  Pushing it's way to the top of my favourite Deftones albums in the process.

ominousnimbus

1. KNY
2. WP
3. DE
4. S/T
5. ATF
6. SNW
7. Adrenaline

Now that the album is released everywhere (just bought my first copy), the Tempest video should be released any day now.

IN WAVES

It's hard to rank greatness against greatness.

My list changes quite a bit....

1. ATF
2. KNY
3. Adrenaline
4. DE
5. S/T
6. WP
7. SNW

Exactly. The list I made could change tomorrow depending on the mood that I'm in.

Hey guys. I signed up because I wanted to let the Deftones community know that I got the album yesterday and I have made a video for the uncasing of it for people who would be interested in seeing the booklet artwork and display of the album in general that I am uploading as I type this. I will have the link up very shortly.

It's now tuesday november 13 in Chicago the day and release of KOI NO YOKAN by DEFTONES. I have listened to

the koi no yokan album already but the Deftones since Adrenaline came out I cant really rank the albums by anger or excellence since they are

all very good and SOOTHING depending on what mood you are in.  As of right now I am finding new screams and

vocals by Chino in this album. I believe that alot of people can't hear the tones the way they want to

beacuase they didn' write the song and they don't know what the lyrics mean but I'm sure some do.  I'm liking

the song poltergeist Because chino says a lyric "try me" and like in diamond eyes when he says "fuck with me"

Seems he doesn't give a fuck anymore because  no one would fuck with him.  I love when you wait for something

and it finally arrives; like this album.... It's a good feeling.

I would rank my Deftones albums like this....

ADRENLINE "angry"
DEFONTES
AROUND THE FUR
SATURDAY NIGHT WRIST
DIAMOND EYES
KOI NO YOKAN
WHITE PONY

Do you guys remember the keychain that came with White Pony album release
?

Hesperian Death-Horse!

Just grabbed my CD copy tonight at a local store. About to spin it for my first full listen.

Swap 2 and  3 and we have a deal

Usually I am not trying to like an album, it's either good or not. Yet, I am trying really hard to like KNY, but so far it's not clicking. I know it's a fine album overall, but it's now what I expected. What caught me off guard is that "pop" vibe it has, the cheesy choruses and the vocal effects... OMG, the vocal effects ! I realize I sound like a narrow minded Metallica fan, but fuck Nick Raskulinecz

As far as ranking KNY tracks goes....

1- Gauze
2- Poltergeist
3- Graphic Nature
4- Goon Squad
5- Swerve City
6- What Happened to You?
7- Entombed
8- Tempest
9- Rosemary
10- Leathers
11- Romantic Dreams

Romantic Dreams could have been an amazing song, but that CHORUS!  Ugh

I respect your opinion to dislike Adrenaline, but you lost me with the nu-metal by the numbers bit.  I challenge you to name 3 nu-metal bands that came out during that time that you feel deftones had a strong resemblance to.  Also, feel free to continue this in the Bullshit thread where it belongs.

Korn, Glassjaw and Orange 9mm all come readily to mind.

You can argue that Orange 9mm weren't "nu-metal", but they had a definite influence on Deftones' sound during that period.

I'm arguing that Glassjaw is or ever was nu-metal.
"I really can't help it.  It's either this or prison."

Electron§

Ive never heard of anyone categorizing Glassjaw as nu metal. They were always post hardcore and Ive even heard people saying they were basically the 2000's antithesis to that whole trend in that they're sound was distinct to that stuff.....

Glassjaw sounds like an exaggerated version of Deftones though. There a lot less subtle, but I see a strange similarity.

Man, Swerve City, what a track. I've been digging it a lot, lately.

It's not my favorite off of the album, but it's straight to the point, melodic and something you can jump up and down to.

ShadowScars

This may have been covered in one of the previou 535 pages, but are there still suppose to be 3 bonus tracks or was that scrapped?
