idk bout that but IMHO its the best closer (if you dont include republic in WP)

I will have to pretend that Damone is a closer and pick it up as my favorite.

Nah man it's not that simple. It's just one of those things where something appeals to you more or less for the connection you have to it.
Think i know what you mean i don't feel any connection to Tempest just does not relate to anything going on in my life with the other tracks though i got that initial connection and that shiver down my spine.

It is always the same people who hate on everything they've done since Diamond Eyes. I think I can already tell that those will hate the new album anyway, since it certainly won't sound like your oh so beloved ATF, White Pony, S/T, etc.

Don't get mad about my opinion, bit I'm just getting tired of your nostalgic and negative attitudes...  :-\

Now we're getting somewhere.
That is a much better way to put it than claiming they have gone mainstream.
If you don't have the connection, that is fair to say.
I'm very interested to see which songs people latch on to with kny.
Many have preconceived notions of what certain songs will sound like and there are some surprises in store

Yeah its kind of a bummer ill get all excited about new stuff and then come on hear to see what people think and alot just poke holes but people are allowed their opinions ,probably deftones fault for setting such high standards

I'm fine with them having their opinions, but their overall negativity just saddens me. I mean, it's only two weeks to go until KNY comes out. This whole place should brim over with excitement!  :D

That deftones change with every album is one of the main reasons I love them. What other band has done that while maintaining integrity? Don't worry I'll wait...

Look what happens to other bands that try to recreate a sound from past albums. Korn, Metallica, etc...
I know that's comparing apples to shotguns, but my point is, if I want to listen to ATF, ill put on ATF. I don't need something that almost sounds like ATF. I know deftones would be able to pull it off, but I'd rather have something new

Incubus has gone mainstream if you want an example of a once decent band that turned mainstream and simplified.

Incubus has gone mainstream?????    If anything  they have gone away from mainstream.   Make Yourself/Morning View were their mainstream albums and they were awesome in my eyes!   Starting with ACLOTM they started to push the envelope and really go away from their bass driven material.  Personally, I prefer the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. era and feel they have gone too far with the experimentation in my eyes.

If Not Now When was a master of an album, raw groove written hooks and basic melody's! They are now far detatched from their Morning View days when they appeared on every single MTV show possible. Tones were on alot of things too In WP and ST days, i think now they have dropped off the radar a bit in terms of "Mainstream" exposure

There's not much to say about it right now except speculations that doesn't mean anything. when the album drops people won't even be able to talk about anything else.

Get talking about it then!
Care to express excitement for the leak or provide unfounded name-based speculation on what a song will sound like?

hahah, On point lad. Great first post.. I think the most anticipated songs, I want to hear are Swerve City, Romantic Dreams, and Goon Squad. Especially Romantic Dreams.. Chino hyped that shit up in the recent interview as one of the best things they've ever written.

I'm hoping for a left hook on the album to knock me off my expectations.

It's been auto-pilot for a while now. I'm looking forward to hearing the other songs. Should be able to at least find one i like.

Drummerboy_123

The track times are on the KNY wikipage. No idea if its real, anyone got confirmation on it?

Rosemary seems to be their longest song in some time, though I doubt anything will beat MX on length  ;D

i really think the big blank in between mx and damone is stupid. should have been a minute or 2  break, that's mostly why i don't listen to damone much...

I use a little trick. When you use iTunes, or another player who allows that, then make a copy of MX. Then right click MX, go to informations, go to the options tab. In the field 'stop track at', type in 4:50. Rename the copy of MX as Damone, start it at 32:36 (I have the Amazon MP3 version).

No more problems with the lengthy silence in between.

SquealLikeaPig

Yeah, thats kind of a shame about Damone.  Its one of my favorite Deftones songs but I don't think people listen to it as much because its hidden.
