He said it sounds like ''MX'' just because it probably has some ''sexy/mystic'' vocals in some parts (just like Abe's wife talks).
Im sure because he also says it sounds like ''Curve'' songs
yes thats what i got from it too, because the 3 songs he compared it too were very different except that.

I thought of that as well, but i mean using the female vocals thing again would either just be taken as redo of "MX" or a disaster like "Pink Cellphone".

Would love for the last track to have the raw and emotional depth of "Pink Maggit." However, it would still be just as dope for a closer track like "Mx". Would def be a throwback

gui

personally i would love something in the vein of Anniversary for an album closer but i'm not holding my breathe.

Same here. Felt like that song should have been the closer instead of Moana.

Interesting how in the metalsucks review they compared "What Happened To You?" to "MX", while Chino compared it to something like "Pink Maggit".

How does that make sense?!

I seriously doubt anyone here is going to find one song on KNY that is similar to anything on ATF.
Those comparisons in that review are highly suspect.

Chino did say that IF he had to compare Swerve City to anything, it would be to songs from ATF. "rolling riff" and "sweeping melody" are words he used to describe it. I doubt it will sound like a song from that era, but I think we might be a bit surprised ;) I think it is going to be an instant classic and maybe their best album opener to date.
Throw your faith in me. I'll take you some place brand new....

Oh, you will be happy with swerve, no doubt about it.

I talked to someone from the music press on Twitter today and he said that Swerve City is the heaviest thing they've done in ages but also melodic at the same time and that the record is actually much more varied than Tempest and Leathers alone indicate. He also claimed that it's "leagues" better than Diamond Eyes

I get excited just to hear other people's opinions on the album, but it makes it worse at the same time. The unanimous verdict so far seems to be that this is their best work since WP. The wait is seriously agonizing.

I do too. I love the song of course, but I think verse is a bit drawn out and the transition to the chorus does not feel natural. I guess the chorus and the verse "match" but some kind of build up in between would have been nice. Kind of similar to the riff at the end of Rosemary.

He interviewed Chino, so he probably just got to sit and listen to it. Hopefully I am wrong though! Also, does anyone know if the release date is really November 9th overseas? That would make me feel a wee bit better.

Reviewable copies are tagged in a way that leaking it would reveal the source.
No smart person would leak it intentionally ...

I feel ya exactly... it just seems too drawn out.. I mean as a song it's good and all.. but as far is it being a masterpiece, I dunno... It was an odd/good way to end an album, though...
