I think the production on ST is very flat.  You can really tell on a lot of songs.. I think DE/KNY are their best production since WP

diamond eyes got partially ruined due to its productions imo, especially when listening to the instrumentals

I'm trying not to listen to it repeatedly so as not to completely overplay it. I cant see it working though.

Also, about the ppl/interview/etc. that said it was less heavy than DE...I'm not gonna believe that for the simple fact that everyone has different meanings of the word; musically, vocally, lyrically, atmospherically, emotionally, etc. But since I wouldnt care much since I love their heavy music, but prefer their softer/in-between music...I guess it wouldnt matter to me either way. Wouldnt want it to be all soft though, but Leathers and Roller Derby suggest it isnt.

Not to mention Romantic Dreams by the sound of it.  And Rosemary has a certain heaviness too I think but it's not an aggressive song by any means.  I just hope there's some aggression/edge in the latter parts, and it's not all first half or so heavy, like DE.

Eager to hear that outro to Rosemary when the album is released.  . . .

I'm still a bit appalled by some of the hate Diamond Eyes gets around here, but whatever... All I'm hoping for KNY is that they make a solid, entertaining album. I don't like to put false comparisons on any of their work (it's gonna sound like <insert album here>). Each album is unique and creative. Couldn't ask for more.

I agree. my first thought when I listened to DE for the first time was that this is classic Deftones. they showed song writing more reminiscent of ATF than anything they've done since. I really don't understand all the hate.

Oh come on ! do you hear the own melancholy melody of chino in DE ? This is why we don't like DE much as we do with AT, WP....
DE is a great album but the emotion of deftones is not very present.

Leathers is a great song, the scream are pretty good, the chorus is not easy to like at the beginning but some lines of singing like "wear your insides" are very good and this with the singing style of Rosemary makes me hope a good album with the return of own melody of deftones, sad and melancholic.
