I think we're going to get some good marketable singles off this record. Chino is great at writing mid-tempo, slow songs. I am honestly more eager to listen to the other 3 songs that he doesn't play guitar on. ITs the third record with the 8 string guitar and since we haven't heard Eros, I hope Stephen rips it hard on those 3 songs.....

me too.but then again, i always do. why not always listen carefully to your favourite band, you know?

Chino playing on 10 of the songs further backs up my assumption of this being the softest Deftones record. We'll have 2 or 3 really heavy songs (heavy like royal or rocket skates, not like WGTB or their early work. Those days are done.) and the rest of the album will be mid-tempo groovy rock songs. I'm cool with that though. Honestly I get most excited about hearing Abe's work on a new record first. Any time I listen to a Deftones album for the first time I notice the drums before anything else. As long as Abe can keep me bobbing my head, I'll enjoy the new record.

abe's stuff is dope i love it too.. but mostly, when he clicks with steph's shit... it's not that i listen to phallucy just bc it's abe.
don't think anyone here digs his work that much i also agree about wgtb, i will be real suprised if they pull of a heavy song like that ever again. only chance is eros

My only worry too! Besides this possibly happening, I am geeked.

Can't forget..... seems that there is plenty of soundscaping and keys in this record as well.....lot's of pics of Frank n Steph on them and even some reading about it i think? Gotta love that. I would love a good electronic based song like Lucky again myself....
