Who would you like to produce the next Deftones album?

I konw there's already a thread on the new album but this is specifically a thread on who you would like to produce the new album. Tell us 3 of your choices by preference. I'm guessing that most people are going to have Terry Date and I'm hoping that a lot will also say Nick Raskulinecz, so there's a 3rd choice which should be a bit of a wildcard. Give us a reason why you chose who you did too.
Here goes:

1) Terry Date - He produced ATF and ST which are my 2 favourite albums. I love the sound he got on ST and would love to hear something dark like this again. He is in mind the sixth member of Deftones.
2) Nick Raskulinecz - He's not Terry but I'd still be very happy if he produced another of their albums. I think he did a great job on DE. I really like the sound of that record and I love the fact that he got the band working so well together and getting things done quickly. I think that if we don't want a long wait to the next album he's the man for the job.
3) Butch Vig - He produced Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream and Nirvana's Nevermind. Those albums were made quite a while back already but both had a great sound which left a lasting impression.
Whether you like those bands or not, it's difficult to deny the quality of the production.
Scott Litt is also a great producer IMO so I'm going to throw him in as a 4th choice.

Whoever it is, I want him to recapture the Ambience of SNW and DE

Nice, another SNW fan.
It's not my favourite album but I love it and agree it has such a beautiful ambience and sound to it (as does DE).
It's really nice to listen to driving late at night

I'm kind of doubting Deftones will go back to their 'roots' any time soon. They tried with Self Titled and I guess in retrospect they didn't like that album much even though it's my favorite. Anyway, I vote Terry Date or Butch Vig but yea I doubt it will happen.

I just hope Chino doesn't try to sound too pretty on the next album, and puts more of that raw emotion into it.

S/T was a good effort but it have been worked on a lot better. Besides, Chino's mindset is all about expanding the band's sound but you'll always find Steph's songs so as long as he writes most of the stuff, the FYIHYD stuff will still be there

Terry Date for me, even if it means more time spent..... wish Terry had a say on Eros release but nope. I've wondered if there were hard feelings between them all about using other producers the last few released records but I remember reading or hearing somewhere that they still see him and have kicked it together. Terry fucking Date. By the way, I dont read into too much around here when I've been not around here for long periods of time so i missed knowing what other projects with other bands Terry has done. Fill me in??????? please and thank u all in advance :)
Pushing you back but still you ain't goooooooooone!!!!!!

I don't think anyone knows yet (could be mistaken) on which label will play into these next and future releases but anyone ever thought about Rick Rubin????? Love everything he has ever done including his god given talent on finding unknown artists at the time and making them huge! He seems like a Deftones guy, I mean everyone from Beastie Boys to pop music to metal. He could get these guys motivated and all ears to what he has to offer from his name alone. And would being on a certain label determine that possibility if it were even a not-from-too-far fetched idea??? Stoned right now but sounds golden......Didn't he even discover Metallica?????? idk FUCK: Johnny Cash, Linkin Park, Weezer, RHCP, The Mars V, Slipknot, Slayer (just seen the old fucks), Run DMC, Danzig, The Cult, Rolling Stones, RATM!!!!!!, SOAD?????????? Some I love, some just successful and many of these never to sell out to radio mainstream like Beastie Boys or RATM!!! Hey u asked, just a thought i think Rick would do for them because they are proven beyond a lot of these artists already right? OPINION from a freak imagination, thank you. :D Don't follow much on labels or companies, just a listener who doesn't try to breake things down to too much of a science obviously but would Columbia Records even be a valuable option for a band like this? It is Rick Rubin's still I believe...idk

My top choice would be Brendan O'brien, he always makes makes performances and arragments unbeatable. he produced Issues, and that's the only Korn record i can listen to front to back.
if not, i'd love to see terry come back, the snare is unbeliable with him. but I also think Nick did an outstanding job on the last one. I love his spirit of "keep it focused & in the moment".

So as like a fantasy draft pick , experimentaly speaking : Phill Spector., . Just imagine "The Wall of Sound" under chino's vocals.................But in reality  I say Terry Date, or RICK RUBIN would be sick,. but another dream pick is Nigel Goldrich, I want to hear deftones' KID A.

Beat me to it, however I do not think All of you suck, just a few of you....
One last Thing...You Should Beware the Content!!

Thank God that you........ love..... at all.

Ross Robinson would definitely get the heavier side of the tones plus he's known for getting involved in the writing process at times too, seeing that Deftones have never worked with him officially (except on the 2 tape demo) I think its worth a shot
