it was just a metaphor to express how bad i am at realising that someone likes me. other people see it but i am yet unable to identify the interested party. especially seeing as the person i'm talking about is NICE TO EVERYONE. he's dropped hints to me before but i am never sure if he means what i'm actually hearing. plus i find it impossible that anyone would have any sort of romantic feelings for me.

Could it be a self confidence thing? Maybe you're so smitten by the guy that you imagine him too be waaay out of your league when in fact he could be dropping hints all along. 

i don't know how i feel about him though. he has the potential to be my best friend, but there's this intense awkwardness between us. plus everyone makes fun of us because they believe that something is going on, and he draws my attention to that fact all the time. it's like everyone else can see it but i can't. my boss is convinced i'm the stupidest person when it comes to these things because i just don't see it. but it could be what you said with the self-confidence stuff. it could be that i've blocked it all out in my head because i deem it impossible. also i don't think i'm out of his league. he is attractive, but i'm intellectually superior to him. i don't mean to say that in a wanky way. i'm six years older so i'm guaranteed to be wiser than him, which he has pointed out to me several times.

He want's something to happen. I would suggest to give it a go but then if you could be best friends and then fuck things up by dating. My best bet would think about what it would be like to be with him and also what it would be like to not have him in your life. same. unless someone is kissing my mouth or neck then i don't get what they are trying to get across in regards to their feelings about me. i've been 'one of the boys' in a lot of friendships with guys so i'm not able to see them crossing that line in the middle for when they are trying to make a play for me.

he's very unreadable. today we were talking about this guy i was seeing that he hates and he just texted that 'my heart belongs to his eyes'. like, wtf? i jokingly just replied that he should stop flirting with me and that i was onto him. we have a lot of mutual friends because we're work mates. my friend was talking to him and he said something weird and she told him that him and i would make a perfect couple and he said that he didn't want to fall in love and get married (which he has told me a few times). i found it strange that he associated love and marriage to the idea of us. he could've said that we were just mates. there's a few people that think there's actually something going on because of the way we are around each other. he tells people that i am the coolest and most awesome person he's ever met. his eyes supposedly sparkle when he talks about me. i still am not convinced that there is anything involved other than friendship because i'm in it. i'm not outside of it to assess the situation. before my boss went on holiday he told me that he's pretty sure that he has a massive crush on me, but i just dismissed it becase i'm convinced we are mates and only mates. i find it extremely difficult to think he wants anything more than friendship.
