We have little kids, some of them poor kids, donating money on www.oneloveforchi.com. People who doesn't even know Chi.

But they donate money anyway.Deftones have known Chi for a bigger part of their life. They are close long friends, colleagues and business partners.

But they still don't donate.Chi even helped them earn some of their money for a long time.

Just because deftones doesn't earn money on record sales as much as fucking U2,doesnt mean theyre fucking broke.Deftones have money. And they do tour.

To say "visit oneloveforchi.com" doesnt take much enery. If youre impressed by them saying that phrase in interviews youre easily impressed.

To dump the responsibility on other persons-on another site-isnt so grand of them.

Im not saying this to get people angry, just think about it.

Thanks/K

one weak

speculation that the band is not doing enough financially for Chi is a lame argument. raising awareness about the cause is priceless. 5 guys donating even moderate amounts of money is far less beneficial than using their elevated status to inform thousands about a cause.

Why can't they do both?

If kids can donate, they can to.Why not set up a good example so more people follow.

But you might think it's a good idea to ask people to donate money and then not do it yourself.

a dollar from every ticket sold at deftones shows is being donated to the cheng family from what i hear so they are kinda doing something.

I think they start doing really good things now.if there is a bad aspect of it, it took quite some time for thigs to happen. the two benefit concerts were played more than a year after the accident, and they didn't donate any money from ticket sales until relatively recently? but of course it's better late than never. If they would had given some money off the tickets sales from the very first gigs, and symbolically had a concert a bit earlier, it probably would have silenced a lot of negativity.

Or,if it was deftones initiative to start up a similar site as oneloveforchi, it would probably also meant a lot for those loud cynical ones.

but it's always easy to sit behind a screen and say what is right and wrong. "do this do that" :p
