Seeing how everyone is so hyped about the new Diamond Eyes album coming out in May, let's assume that it does the best as far as selling and surpasses White Pony's popularity. 

Trying to keep this post short and sweet, seeing how this album was done with another bassist, when Chi comes out of his coma and fully recovers...What Shall The Band Do??

Which is what I would assume. But if everything seems to be clicking...it just seems like the band has been re-energized!!

If that happens, they will go back to Chi. They want to release and tour Eros but they don't want to do it without him. Also, much props need to be given to Sergio for coming through in a time of need.

I dont think they'd replace Chi. I mean, they're all happy with how Sergio's fitting and everything, which is good, but they all know that he's not supposed to be there forever. I dont think they'd do that and replace him.

I think Sergio is good. But at the end of the day Chi is just a huge part of the band. And besides I want to hear 'Eros' just as much as anyone else on here. Chi is a deftone forever!

Obviously Chi will play bass again (if he can) when he's out of the coma.  Chi's been with them for 20 years, the rest of the band is not going to tell him "sorry, because you were in a coma we kicked you out of the band".  Sergio is merely filling the void until Chi's time to return comes.  

New ppl get killed here haha...should I be worried? Hmmm...ah well. Still, I dont think Deftones should replace Chi just because the album was successful, and I definitely dont think they would.

I dont like to think of deftones as numetal but i mean.. there not iron maiden style metal and they are heavy.. so yeaaa. Indie pop is trendy now .. as well as a ton of shitty studio produced garbage that people like to call RnB. (true RnB is ashamed). Deftones will never be as close to the spotlight as they were in 2000-2001.

also as per above, "alternative metal" is one of the only industry type terms i've ever heard applied to them that comes close to fitting.....
Chino himself described their style/genre as "mood music" which i like the sound of, and is descriptive yet vague which in itself mirrors their sound.
