yeah but its like rock said. Radio doesn't play deftones. I know for a damn fact cuz the alternative station here in chicago plays all this other crap, and like maybe once in a full blue moon a deftones song, usually "change". I don't recall them playing HITE and that was really really radio friendly

agreed. hite was really radio friendly. the verse especially. the verse on this one sounds brutal and the chorus is just hedonistic bliss (thanks for that term metal hammer dude). also, according to metal hammer the ending of diamond eyes might be the heaviest shit deftones have EVER done.

We'll that gives me some hope...

There Will Be Blood

Are those buildings in Sacto or LA?

i'd really like to get rid of them miserable s/t fans who cannot enjoy a great riff, bouncy beats and a heavenly melody. they're all about fat chongo, depression, how everything is dark and life sucks basically. i want the cool chino back. the guy who can rock a baggypant and still be all artsy you know. i enjoy the confidence in what i hear. deftones was about the body and the soul. about hedonism, love and all things in between. suddely all there was was misery, conflict, creative drought. i hate that shit. nothing good comes from it.

i am glad things are back to where they were. i'm glad i can see deftones live without feeling embarrased for them. i'm glad these guys are back you know, there to climb the fuckin hills of alt metal. fuck your "it's stupid college rock LOL". the same stuff has been said about change when it came out. the same fuckin thing happend when be quiet and drive was released. you just can't let go and enjoy to hear deftones obvioulsy enjoying themselves again. instead of being fuckin miserable.

man, i'm glad this thing sounds like a return to form. i'm glad for them.

Doesnt really sound like Chino.

Totally agree!!! I am seriously thinking the reason they put RS out first is because if this was the first thing die hard fans heard from the new album they would be like WTF???

Why else release the "single" second??

That riff as it's fading out is like soft-rock Meshuggah (in a good way)

Be careful not to mistake 'radio-friendly' with 'good songwriting'. To me (from a 30 second clip and Rocket Skates) they are stepping up their song writing and growing further.

I will never understand this hostility between Deftones fans. we're all here for a common love for the band, right? why all the bickering? you need to seriously shut the fuck up.
pray nightfall release me
then i could wander, wander to deep sleep

I have never applied s/t to themes about how life sucks or being suicidal. Where the fuck did you get that from? If you look at the context of it as whole and it's pretty obvious. It's about love, relationship and the end of that. Maybe your getting korn confused with deftones.

because motherfuckers rain on other peoples parades.

Why does everyone here get so mad when we voice our opinons? There's not a more sensible place to do that than in the biggest Deftones board, so why?

ROTFLMAO!!!!!  Maybe you should go listen to some Bayside and loosen up your skinny jeans! I think they are so tight you have no blood in your testicles anymore...

"There to climb the fuckin hills of alt metal!!" I love it! That may be the most limp wristed quote I have ever seen... Priceless.

Sorry, nothing personal, but that cracked me up... Were you being facetious??

there was a post on here about some dude claiming that only real music can come from pain and that this is why s/t is the best record. that's why i brought that up. also, because people always claim that s/t is so great because it's so dark.

Example: I find it quite uplifting in the same way Blues music does. It feels personal when I hear it.
